Placeable Categories for download

Post by indio »

I've made some very basic categories for placeables (entirely based on the default placeables of Obsidian...zero ALFA content).

The purpose behind it is to use the palette menus to better organise the vast array of Manmade Props, sorting them into logical areas so populating areas of a particular type is much faster.

I've done this so I can start doing Silvy interiors and was so enjoying the result while building that I figured others might enjoy it too.

It will add 1.2MB to your module, and all placeables can be found in the Placeable Categories palette.

You might check those after associating the new alfa_placeables.hak - since it makes some of the base content tintable, you might be able to pre-tint some of the blueprints you've made to something more agreeable than the 0,0,0 jetblack that comes default once they gain tintmaps. I'll put it up the same place I put the files last time.

Well appreciated!

Here's my new version of Placeable Categories. It's every placeable in the official game, plus all ALFA placeables, ordered in logical thematic order.

If you've never tried using this approach to placeables then it's possibly worth a look.

Here's a shot of the categories:
