Ignoring History
Funny, I think I'm more like a morally outraged American citizen who is watching his country go down the sinkhole due to right wing ideology, cronyism and sheer incompetence, and destroy the people of Iraq along the way, and I'm dealing with it by seeking commiseration with others.
In other words, you are not my intended audience. I couldn't care less if you never read another post by me. You're just the static on the channel as far as I'm concerned.

Dan does have a point though. You do come off with an air of perceived intellectual superiority. Whether it's legitimate or not, it does tend to annoy people.Mulu wrote:Funny, I think I'm more like a morally outraged American citizen who is watching his country go down the sinkhole due to right wing ideology, cronyism and sheer incompetence, and destroy the people of Iraq along the way, and I'm dealing with it by seeking commiseration with others.

Yup. Thats my point, NickD. Its cool to have an opinion. Just stop trying to cram it down the whole communties throat. I know this project tends to lean very liberal (since its D&D community and has tons of Europeans), but its just same ol' same old.
I agree, Mulu, you have ever reason to be upset. Im not happy with our president either and I support most republican initiatives. Moral outrage or not the President deserves some respect even if you dont agree with him. I would love to see what Clinton or Gore would be doing right now if they were in office dealing with the past 4+ years. Any president would have a tough go at it. Bush has had terrible advisors (Rummy) and also hes his worse enemy at times because hes at a loss on what to do. If he stays the course more America servicefolk will die and if we pull out we make America weak in the eyes of nations all over the world and might even have other rogue nations try and pull of more pot shots at us.
I know Im just wasting my time here since no one ever listens to me, but I just wish we could just stop all the politics. You may be a hell of a Rper Mulu, I have no idea. I dont think Ive ever seen you in game, but Id rather get to know you because of that then us be on shitty terms because of our own beliefs about real life...when thats not what we are here about.
and Swift..just shut up. Your annoying little kid

I never thought I'd say this, but Quoted for truth. That section of your post actually mirrors how I feel about things right now. Its not right wingers that are the problem though, I think the whole administration is nutters and you know how I am. The problem is, like you said, cronyism, incompetence, greed and corruption.Mulu wrote: American citizen who is watching his country go down the sinkhole due to right wing ideology, cronyism and sheer incompetence, and destroy the people of Iraq along the way.
Now, leave or stay, Iraq will be a mess. I say get the hell out and get our boys to safety. If Iraq's parliament has the time for a month long recess, we have time for a troop pullout. Screw them. Our guys are dying for "their freedom" and they're going on holiday.
I voted for Obama. The apocalypse is nigh!

Respect is not given, it is earned and Bush has done nothing to earn the respect of his people. Anything he may have done early in his presidency he has well and truely used up now. No, Bush deserves nothing but scorn for what he has done to America and what he has done to the world.Danubus wrote:Moral outrage or not the President deserves some respect even if you dont agree with him.
How adult of you. For a 37 year old, your really not doing anything to convince people your mature like you try to portray.and Swift..just shut up. Your annoying little kid
Okay, this one was just too funny.

Kristol participated in a washingtonpost.com Q&A yesterday and defended himself, sort of:
"Greenbelt, Md.: You have been wrong about every important prediction you have made about the outcome of this war and this presidency -- why should anyone pay attention to you now?
"William Kristol: Feel free not to!"

I think many people simply get a bad vibe, rightly so, from men who sell everyone down the river. Bush is one of those people, and often crap is made up to throw at them, along with the truth as their political aversaries sling calcite and moist earth.
What do you do about untouchable people? Often it was thought the assasin's bullet was the only way, though I found enlightment from a comic book of all places. The best way to keep punks from doing damage, is to take away their toys.
I think corporate entities should be banned from running for president. They are nearly countries in themselves run by a senate of boardmembers. Their borders are transendant, and they hold more self interest than loyalty to a country. Banning coroprate board members from running for public office is a start to a long term solution, and the least violent way to keep bushes and political looters away.
Edited so that I look less like an idiot via old man grammer.

We can't even keep clergy from running for President, I don't how we'd keep corporate board members from running.
All we really need to do is vote progressive as a significant majority. The political will to make the country better already exists, it just isn't strong enough to overcome electronic voting machine fraud.

Ya and whats funny is this was happening in St. Louis/ East St. Louis by a liberal agency that would get people to vote. They had dead people voting along with folks that were not even old enough to vote. Some people even managed to vote more than once. This agency has since been in deep shit in Kansas City and St. Louis, Mo. The Gov of Missouri had the Attorney General looking into them and also higher ups got into into investigating them. I'll go digging for the actual name of the group in a bit. I know I've seen this on the local news agencys (NBC,Fox, and CBS) as well as nationally on The O'Reilly Factor.t just isn't strong enough to overcome electronic voting machine fraud.

Found the name. It was ACORN.

Seems this group is linked to Colorado and Penn voter fraud cases as well. In the Missouri cases ACORN was heavily tied to the Democratic party.
Im sure it goes on for both parties, but Ive hardly ever heard or seen it happening by republican backers. The Democrats are famous for this kind of nonsense, though. We have seen them slash tires of vans and buses that were going to be used to pick up elderly on election days. Classy, to be sure.

Oh, there's no doubt both parties are involved in voter fraud, but the electronic machines were a real coup for the republicans.

Gimme a break. Anything you can ballyhoo about because you guys lost the election. You will find anything at fault for the fact more americans voted for Bush than Gore. Get over the past, Mulu. You guys will be in control here pretty soon so we can all sit back and watch your party try and do something to make things better.

wow, interesting perspectives. You and You guys and Your party....
Reminds me of Floyd's Us and Them. Amazing how so many people are brainwashed into thinkin it has to be one way or the other. Not to be insulting by the use of the word brainwashed either, I am sure a lot of people do political research to make up their own minds, but when their choices are apples and oranges without any other fruits, it ....makes me a bit sad. Anyways, realize that politics makes pawns of us all, and respect all, no matter if their brainwashing classes differ from yours.
And Charlie, I totally agree, the fault lies within both parties, one is neither greater or lesser than the other. I tend to be a centrist also. Screw party lines.
