Post some music noobs
So we can find new stuff to love! Youtube is a great source, though you'll have to ignore the idiotic anime videos that they're usually paired with.
Lacuna Coil - Entwined
Alice in Chains - Would?
Poe - Haunted
Foo Fighters - Stacked Actors
Conjure One - Endless Dream

Kate Nash, a rather fabulous lass from Harrow who writes wry, touching, ballsy songs.
Songs for the Young at Heart, a lovely collection of children's classics reinterpreted by a host of modern musicians, and featuring Bonnie Prince Billy singing Puff the Magic Dragon, and Jarvis Cocker reading Albert and the Lion. Buy it for when your friends have children.
Jenny Owen Youngs, purveyor of the second greatest cover version ever (after Alanis Morrissette doing 'My Humps') of Hot in Herre.

Creature Feature, one of my current favorites...mainly cause they sing about evil carnivals and zombies.
Type O Negative, not exactly new but they do have a new video about Rasputin and they are from Brooklyn.
Hate in the Box, local NY horror rock.
Collide, not really unknown but is worth checking out just to listen to their cover of White Rabbit.
Angelspit, not much out from this band but I really love the lead singer's voice.
Aryia, more of a club/dance feel than what I usually go for but I've found myself listening a lot to her las of late.
Voltaire, have to imagine he is fairly well known among the demographic that ALFA tends to appeal to but figuired I'd post him just in case.
Emilie Autumn, bit different from most of what I listen too but you cant beat violins.
Charlie Drown, a bit harder than the other stuff I've posted.
Slayer, everyone knows who they are but they have just released a new album.
And how do you guys get the link into the bands name anyhow?
Edit:Thanks

Lurker at the Threshold
Huntin' humans ain't nothin' but nothin'. They all run like scared little rabbits. Run, rabbit, run. Run, rabbit. Run, rabbit. Run rabbit. Run, rabbit, run! RUN, RABBIT, RUN! ~

eliminate spaces to get: Creature Feature
And because I'm here, may as well chip in:
Mariner's Revenge by The Decemberists. Not the best recording, but you get the idea.

The B.A. Baracus Band
Two guys (normally drunk) playing a guitar, a djembe, and two kazoos. Pretty much exclusively 80s music, including TV themes like He-Man, the Jeffersons, all kinds of other singalong crap.
Since the audience is normally drunk, it works.

The The is a band I've always been fond of. They're not really main stream, but it's nice light listening music.
Procol Harum is another great, not so well known, band (as Mikayla can agree to) - with songs such as Conquistador (based a PC off this song) and A Whiter Shade of Pale, which is a truely beautiful song.

This kid will end up being the most famous I've taught. He's insanely talented.

Now his recorded music is one thing, but see him live for the real kick. He's in the US and Europe over the next couple of months.

"The God of the Qurʾan is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully." -- Vaelahr

Someone´s added movie clips of various quality on the below songs.
Summoning - Khazad Dum
Sonata Arctica - My Selene
This I´m not sure of if it´s an original video or not, but it rocks anyway.
Kovenant - Mirror´s Paradise
These are actual videos.
Amorphis - Black Winter Day
Sentenced - Everfrost
Pantera - Cemetery Gates
My Dying Bride - The Songless Bird
Carcass - Keep on rotting in a free world
Last edit... Found a finnish speaking band which I like, quite an accoplishment.
Timo Rautiainen&Trio Niskalaukaus - Lumessakahlaajat
TR&Trio Niskalaukaus - Lintu

Some New Zealand music for you. Mostly a bit old, from a couple of years to a decade or two. That's because I'm old.
Chris Knox. My favourite artist of all time, although I'm not a big fan of his later stuff, here's a couple of songs from earlier albums, but my favourites of his never really got that popular...
Not Given Lightly - I'd say this has been his most famous song by far.
Half Man Half Mole
If you like hip hop, try this one by Scribe: Not Many
if you like that one, try this one too: Stand Up
and this one by Savage: Swing!
A few pop-rockish songs from the Headless Chickens!
George
Gaskrankinstation
Cruise Control
Juice
Probably the most famous song from Tadpole, who drop an old friend of mine as the vocalist (last time I saw her, she was a stripper in Mermaids...) just before they got world famous in New Zealand: Blind
And finally some random NZ music:
Fur Patrol - Precious
Dave Dobbyn - Welcome Home
Goldenhorse - Run Run Run
Brooke Fraser - Lifeline
