My take on that reason is strong emotions hinder Hiro's ability to control his power. He could freeze time fine and teleport (albeit uncontrolled) before he met Charlie. After he developed an emotional attachment to Charlie and lived through her dieing, his powers started to wane. Freezing time was not something he could do and teleporting was even more uncontrolled.
He was having second thoughts about skewering Sylar in the episode, and was reluctant to kill him at that point. I reckon that just built up until he was about to strike and it caused him to lose control of his power which let time continue.

Anyone see last nights episode? I was away and didnt get to see it. I dont think it was put up to view on NBC.com either. I heard ted blew up and Nikki killed her husband, but dont know if its true or not. So, can someone give me a synopsis of what happened? Thanks!

Code: Select all
Nikki (as Jessica) and her husband encounter Mr. Linderman; Linderman attempts to bribe Jessica and then he shoots DL. When Linderman's back is turned, DL gets up and phases his hand through the back of his skull, then he scrambles his brains. (GG ;) )
Ted is killed by Sylar; no explosion tonight; Peter manages to control Ted's powers after he absorbed them in the last episode.
Hiro goes to try and fix his broken sword with Ando, and they meet up with Hiro's father again. Hiro's father apparently also has powers, and tried to "save the world" many years ago, but "some went astray". Hiro and his father practice sword fighting, and Ando, fearing Hiro has given up on killing Sylar, buys a sword and goes to hunt him down.
Micah uses his ability to talk to computers to rig the election, giving Nathan Petrelli the Presidency.
Parkman and Mr. B go to take down the "tracking system", which turns out to be the girl that Parkman saved from Sylar many episodes back. Mr. B kills Thompson, and Mohinder knocks out Parkman and points the gun at Mr. B, who points his gun at the girl.

Thanks folks. Hey, did you know that next year they are also going to have a spin off series that will be called Heroes:Origins. It will be a stand alone episode that will tell the origin of a new character each week. Supposedly, (dont know if this is for real) people can vote for their favorite character and if they get enough votes they will be included into the Heroes regular storyline.
Also, if you sign up on NBC.com right now and goto the graphic novel you can find a sign up deal and Nathan Petrelli will actually call you (for real) at home and ask you to vote for him. Folks have also been getting emails from Nathan asking them to vote for him.

Oh man, tonight's episode (How To Stop An Exploding Man) was fucking intense. Totally awesome, great way to end the season. It all came together, it was Win-sauce with the capital W. Can't wait for this shit to hit DVDs man. Now I'm psyched to see the next season!

Everything he said, with added expletives to describe how awesome it was.NESchampion wrote:Oh man, tonight's episode (How To Stop An Exploding Man) was Ƥøا intense. I'm glad to see Nathan change his stripes at the last minute. It was kinda nuts with every hero showing up at the same time with Peter and Sylar fighting. I thought it was cool to see Nikki smack Sylar up side his head! Was also cool to see that Sylar isnt dead
The whole going back into the past is a good start for next season. Im still wondering if Peter survived the explosion since he can regen fast and would even survive the fall back to earth (maybe). Nathan, on the other hand is probably dead, but one never knows.
Was a good way to end the season. Was also cool to hear that there is a villian for next season that molly briefly mentioned.

Best guess? He was too focused on trying to hold back the radiation power to concentrate on Nathan's flight ability.Aelred wrote:I loved it too - great finale! One thing I couldnt understand though was if Peter has already absorbed Nathans power and flown in the past then why didnt he just fly himself? Is it because he can only exibit one talent at a time?
