Dan:
The US government can give you all the rights in the world, but it wont change my views or those who dont want homosexuality to be the norm.
That sounds great to me! I don't mind if your views don't change, so long as I am treated equally and fairly by our government.

Dan:
As I stated it will happen sooner or later for your culture and it will be a sad day for this country as one more chunk of what made this country great is torn away.
Religious and cultural bigotry are not what made this country great Dan.

Dan:
Doesnt matter what you or I post back and forth our views wont change. Your welcome to call me whatever you want, but I and folks like me will still fight for whats morally right. Either in courts or wherever.
And folks like me will also still fight for whats morally right - because what we are fighting for is equality and justice.

Neither is leading a disgusting immoral decadent lifestyle. Its not a matter of letting a person of a different color have a say so or equal rights its letting a person of a lifestyle thats downright perverted have the same rights that a person who leads a normal lifestyle. I dont want Ken and Ken living next door to me and trying to explain that to my daughter.

aaaaand we have gotten way off from Iran so Im done.

Ken and Ken can still live together next door even if they're not married. People live together before they get married these days...

Or are you advocating the abolishment of homosexuality?

I really don't understand the hate.

Why not Dan? What do you think can possibly come of it? So what if Ken and Ken live next you? Its not going to do a thing to your daughter - she is a whole person and will be who she is going to be regardless of whether your neighbors are Ken and Barbie or Ken and Ken.

And by the way - homosexuality IS normal. Its been a part of human sexuality since, well, as long as there have been humans. Its not the majority sexuality, to be sure, but its natural and normal. We have all of human history to show us this. Whats unnatural is the bigotry towards homosexual behavior, which is a product of religion.

Well just think, if it does become the social norm, it would be no greater task explaining that than why a married hetrosexual couple live next door.

United States of America. 50 states make up this union, each in itself a small country. What people forget is there is room for the left, right, or down the middle in this place. Mistakes are made when those from any of the poles try to force their views onto the opposite spectrum.
I live in a dry county, the next one over is a wet one. Some states have concealed carry laws others don't.
The problem is that once a group has a victory on a local level they sometimes get the idea to take it to the federal level. And any time laws are taken to the federal level it is ONE small part of the country trying to tell the rest how to live their life.

I can't agree with you in this Dan. I will end up being a gay woman sometime, or at the least, bi-sexual. So gay/transgender rights are important to me. Gay marriage is going to happen. Religion has nothing to do with marriage anymore. It ceased to when you were required to have a government licence to get married. People should be judged on the content of their character, not on the color of their skin, creed or sexual preference. Equal rights for all Americans. In every way. I try to treat people as individuals and judge them on that basis. The day that gays/transgendered get their rights removed, is the day I sign up as a member of the Liberal party. Because as much as I dislike the liberal Democratic party, it, at least, does fight for tolerance in ways that mean a more open society.

homosexuality IS normal
I will argue against this and say it is a genetic/mental default. If you look at it from a pure animal breeding program(say raising cattle) the bull that likes other bulls and not the cows gets his nuts cut off, fed corn till he is nice and fat, then sent to the slaughter house.
- + o works, - + - just doesn't go together does it? 8)

Homosexual behavior has been found in every species that walks, slithers, flies and crawls on this planet. It is normal for it to happen. No matter what people may wish otherwise.
