Let me explain: I am a traveller of both time and space. I wasn't around months ago. I was travelling temporally up until now. And here I am. In the present.

Well, from what it appears this movie was not overhyped, over-anticipated or overestimated!

8.8/10 on IMDB with 2009 users voted, putting it inbetween Casablanca, schindlers list, Pulp Fiction, LOTR:ROTK, one flew over the coocos nest, 7 samurai and Star wars 4 and 5.

5/5 on IGN.com which is quite an achievement, not many movies get that kind of score.

95/100 voted on by 105 IGN users.

100% on RottenTomatoes.com ... which is incredible, albeit early, with just 7 reviews in thus far...

The hot gates has been a topic of interest to me for a long time, and it looked like Frank Miller turned this very important historical event into a comic book. But if it's getting this good of reviews I guess I'll just have to suppress the history nerd in me and watch it.

What's more important when rottentomatoes is concerned is the average score of the reviews which is now at 8.4, which is pretty damn good.

As for the comic book comment, this "graphic novel" is a fantasy tale losely based on historic events.
