Just noticed this because of something Darren said in another thread. Does having ranks in any of the 9 skills still work when determining a bard's required perform skill? I would have thought that'd be hard coded to Perform...

Sheathing and drawing of weapons and shields take real time...
And sheathing provokes an AoO...
I haven't played much nwn2 but it looks like it's about the same as NWN1, in which it is a free action to draw and sheath.
According to 3.5 if you have at least +1 BAB you get to draw a weapon or ready a shield as a free action while moving. If you have the Two Weapon Fighting feat you get to draw two weapons as a free action while moving.
Some weapons also don't sheath IMO. Since when did you sheath a scythe ot halberd. And people who are super practiced in certain weapons would become damn fine at the quick draw for sure.
Some weapons such as Katana's have a whole series of moves that are based on making an attack upon the draw of the weapon. It would be nice if there was a Prestige class weapon master of the katana type thing that allowed those being attacked flat footed to perform a draw, sneak attack upon being attacked flat footed, as long as they are using the katana 1 handed.
It's not a great pain that the drawing of weapons is a free action in the game engine but it would be nice if it was working properly. Though i expect it might be a hell of a lot of programming due to all the different factors, circumstances (depending on class and skills and character proficiencies) that make it a free action or not. If done wrong it would cause more ranting then if left alone.

Confide in me my friend and I shall love you like no other.
NWN 2 allows you to save 5 skill points from level to level (0 in PnP). Skill maximum caps do not apply on cross-class levels if you posess at least 1 level with the skill in question as class skill, even though you still have to pay double for each rank (you cannot raise beyond the maximum cap of the current class you are levelling in in PnP).
Tower shields give +4 AC, no cover, and no penalty on AB (the game says they give -2 AB, but they do not actually do that in the combat engine, I bugtested it a while... let's hope they fix it).
Not sure if this was ever fixed or if it is intended but I believe I mentioned it to the devs during beta, Bracers of Armor give bonus to AC (Enhancement) even when wearing armor (instead of armor bonus). Not to mention originally they did not allow Rangers to pick Selune as a deity, provoking a quotation of her description... The nerve!

witch wrote:Powerattack, no double damage for 2 handed weapons
Improved power attack, doesnt exist in 3.5 (i would make it as said in another thread a free feat for those that have powerattack when getting +6 BA)
This should be updated; powerattack does provide the double dmg - the issue was it wasn't showing up correctly in the character sheet.
On another note, i'm surprised no one's brought this up as it is very much contrary to the spirit of alfa imo as far as recreating an experience closer to pnp AND anti munchkinism - the max hps on every lvl for PCs in NWN2. If it's so hardcoded that it's not addressable without a very clunky mechanism that's understandable perhaps, but it's a factor that changes quite a few aspects of the game both in terms of mechanical balance and feel. The traditionally feared dmg spells become laughable without maximizing them and such as they are still rolled for dmg AND most are capped at lvl 10 or 15, and higher lvl PCs have as much staying power as full grown and older dragons. It's not a pretty sight and it definitely changes the game from pnp DnD.
No one likes rolling 1's on HP rolls, we all know, so perhaps the ideal solution is to go back to something very close to what we had in nwn1 which weighted rolls for better results, and alfa1's hak which hid the results to prevent rerolling of less than optimal HPs.
