Needed: List of actions not provided by NWN2

Post by Ronan »

What do I mean by actions? Anything the base d20 mechanics allow any character to do which NWN doesn't (to a reasonable degree) without the use of some (magic) item. I don't expect most of these to ever be do-able within the NWN2 game engine, but in case they end up being possible at some later date, I'd like placeholders there for them. We'd need placeholders there from day 1 to ensure they are added (probably as feats) to every character in ALFA.
  • Trip
  • Grapple
  • Swim
  • Climb
  • Force open door
  • Break object (placeable)
  • Sunder
  • Bull Rush
  • Charge
  • Disarm
  • Feint
  • Overrun
  • Throw weapon
  • Shield bash
  • Coup de Grace
Most likely we'll just have a list of placeholder feats, which can be renamed at any time as functionality is added. However, I'd like to get a general idea of how many pieces of PnP mechanics we need, so I'd know how many feats to create. So, am I missing anything from my list? If we are lucky, some may even be easily scriptable.

  • wielding a weapon without the proficiency.
  • wearing an armour without the proficiency.
  • charming/dominating a PC (though that's actually NOT possible in PnP, I just think it should be).
  • laying prone voluntary.
  • disguising.
Oh, and Coup de Grace is available to all in NWN afaik.

Disarm is already in too if not implemented entirely/correctly.

Add: Jump, Fight/Cast Defensively

Sort of the opposite to that which was asked.

The Discipline and Parry skills, and Concentration Skill for resisting Taunt, should be stripped and replaced with the correct P&P mechanics.

And if Bluff, Diplomacy and Intimidate are in, Persuade and Taunt should be out.

I like the wilderness survival skill added in....however, I do not like the tracking system that shows up on the map IG...it suits the single player mode fine, but grafting this onto Alfa would be a mistake IMHO...just too meta for my taste.

Yeah, tracking needs to go. This thread is mostly obsolete since OE gave us functions to add and remove feats, though.

not sure about 3.5 rules but...

do paladins have detect evil and if so would this be an "action" feat to add?

[/can of worms]
Garrigan DeLorre - Paladin 6 - died honorably in battle
X'Anne - Witch (Druid/Ranger mix) 4 - captured and imprisoned awaiting trial (retired)
Talon Xavaliir - Cleric 11 - living

Discipline is not a part of NWN2

I like the tracking skill but not the way it was implemented in the game. Is their a way to add it that instead of dots on the map it is creature and the direction it is in?
Throw anything feat would be great to.*dreams of throwing greataxe at creature*

Make it so defensive casting doesn't turn off the moment you need it most.
