Yeah, Hiro is my favorite character so far though figuring out what the deal is with Niki is the most interesting part so far.
Anyone know what powers Peter Petrelli has? Is he a leech that absorbs some of the abilities of those around him or can he do more than one thing?? Fly AND paint the future?

"We had gone in search of the American dream. It had been a lame f*ckaround. A waste of time. There was no point in looking back. F*ck no, not today thank you kindly. My heart was filled with joy. I felt like a monster reincarnation of Horatio Alger. A man on the move... and just sick enough to be totally confident." -- Raoul Duke.

I suspect Peter is an analog to Rogue, but without the kill-you-if-you-touch me bonus. I'm guessing he doesn't drain other powers so much as mimic them when he's around the other mutants, a proximity-dependent effect.
the preview for next week suggests that the dual-personality woman has some super strength. it would be an interesting take on her if her super ability was something like that, and the dual personality was indeed just a mental disorder.

Yeah, I thought the same thing but was hoping they'd try to stay away from ripping off X-Men in such an obvious fashion.fluffmonster wrote:I suspect Peter is an analog to Rogue, but without the kill-you-if-you-touch me bonus. Well, one guy in the garage was torn in half so the rage or strength is there. Maybe it's a knockoff of the Incredible Hulk concept.the preview for next week suggests that the dual-personality woman has some super strength. it would be an interesting take on her if her super ability was something like that, and the dual personality was indeed just a mental disorder.

oh, there's no doubt they've nakedly copied the abilities themselves from other sources. What's interesting is that they've put them in characters and contexts that are utterly mundane. Other superhero stories always focus on the superness, whereas the focus here is much more predicated on a certain normality from which superness is a deviation or distraction.

The kid turns out to be a Forge type character being able to mess with electronics and things. The guy they captured who can cause massive radiation will be the one to blow up New York somehow. I dont think hes sylar, still, though.
Now they hinted that the guy in the glasses might actually not be as evil as we are led to believe. What do you guys think his actual agenda is? Seems to me he cares about his daughter, but does he care enough to save her or use her like Magneto would with the Scarlet Witch?
Some good discussions going on at the NBC.com website for Heroes.

Okay, is there ANYONE on that show who doesn't have a super power? I laughed at the TV when it turned out that both Nikki AND her hubby were mutants. Seriously, what are the odds of that happening?
