Leaving San Francsico at 22.15 local time 25/1/06 (yay can write the date the right way around!) which is 84 hours and 15minutes from this precise moment. Landing in Sydney at 07.50 local time on 27/1/06 which is nuuuuugghh 13.50 SF time the previous day! A good 30mins to get luggage and through immigration- we don't need visas right?! And Dran has graciously volunteered to meet us.

He's also putting us up for the weekend and believe it or not, we have nothing else planned for the rest of our stay, oh except a tourist day trip to the Blue Mountains. We were thinking of asking all of you for advice and ideas on how to spend the remainder of our time. :-) We just need to be back in Sydney for our flight home on February 8rd at 15.00ish.

Is there anything anyone would like us to bring over with us? You know... eg the horribly foul Hershey's chocolate so intimately associated with the US? Duty Free's a given but unless anyone makes a specific request its going on high alcohol percentage vodka and guiness.

And I have never played pen and paper roleplaying. Ever. But Acadius has so perhaps he can help Thang out... do you need help with that or is it a solo job? *shrugs* He can at least help me out with these character sheet things :-)

Looking forward to this! I just need to start hunting for my "summer" clothes.
Lou

(whoops got the flight home date wrong hence edit)

Well, as I'm already over in aussie, I assume I'm confirmed. Arriving by train at the Central Station sometime during Friday. Prehaps I could time it with the time you arrive Thang? I think Dran is meeting me there, with some others in tow. Still need to phone him to arrange a time though... that will probably have to wait until I know the train scheduals. Not completely sure when I fly out yet, but I'm free over the weekend.

Really looking foward to it! And just so you all know, we DID invent the pavlova! :P

so 3:30pm on Friday, no worries. I suggest we hook up the out of towners (swiffer, rotku, etc.) with their tickets/directions to where-ever they are staying and then hit the pub for some beer and pool.

Well most probably wont be able to stay out Saturday night, but the day is booked in for sure since Im planning on getting the Eberron Players Handbook and perhaps the races of the dragon one if they are out.

Friday night is all booked for me and is open to anyone who wishes to come along to Homebar (Sublime on Fridays) and rave their way into the 2006 ALFA con! It'll be all dance music (aka trance) though there is a breaks room (yuck), and some drum and bass upstairs.
Some deterring facts may be;
-The lateness of the night
(Starts at 11pm till whenever, usualy 3 or 4, see how long u last.)
-And the price
($25 entry fee, and drinks are a little pricy. I usualy load up on cheep'os earlier)
- The music
(Its loud, and its Trance.. not really alot of peoples cup of tea)

Afterwards you’re free to crash with us and then head off to Circular Quay in the morning.

I reckon no earlier than 10:30am .. Bool and Swift will be a fair way out, and I like sleep and chilling out with my morning coffee and the paper when I'm not working.

How about 10:30am at circular? that way we can all get plenty of rest and overcome hangovers and whatevers...

Turns out we did need visas.
Turns out you can apply for them online.
Turns out you can get them within 30seconds.

And turns out someone applied for 2 last night.

*breathes a sigh of relief*

Sounds good. I'll be waring a black shirt and shorts with a large green tramping back-pack, so shouldn't be too difficult to spot.
