I think this is a supplement to her thing about the XP cap.
I may not agree with where she's going, but I agree with how she's getting there. Get some statistics and suggest solutions with them to back you up rather than sitting about guessing (hypocrisy, yay!) and whining pointlessly.
As to levels ... my current character is level 2, and he's the highest-level character I've ever had.

The spawns only have to fight once. PCs don't have that luxury. -Twisted

This was actually answered pretty well a few months back. Someone (can't remember who) actually logged in and checked the servers for PC's and noted their names and levels several times over a month. He got levels of active PC's as well as how many levels were advanced during that period. Seemed like a pretty thorough sampling method too (not just checking one time of day).
Someone might want to dig that up.
FYI, current stats for those logged in ATM:
level 1: 4
2: 5
3: 5
4: 12
5: 2
6: 5
7: 4
8: 4
9: 5
10: 4
11: 3
12: 0
13: 0
14: 1
15+: 1
For a total of 51 playing currently (I may have caught a DM or 3 in there, but I didn't coun't the ones I was certain were DM's like Grand Fromage and Rick or characters with commoner levels or generic names... or that one lvl 40 character)
Also I'd like to say WOW to TSM. That's quite the play group.

Current PC: I'm not tellin'. They die when I put their names here.

And there it is. Why are you so paranoid? Why do you say the same thing in every thread I comment on? You constantly suggest there must be an ulterior motive for asking questions and I don't understand why.MShady wrote:And what are you seeking and why?

Actually, asking about character levels has nothing to do with the cap. It's part of trying to see what our player base consists of and how often they play. Pretty basic stuff I thought but some people aren't happy about it.LBaeldeth wrote:I think this is a supplement to her thing about the XP cap.

Cause they think its a witch hunt and its not. Its just to find out where ALFA stands with our playerbase. People think this has something to do with the cap or some Dms think it has to do with them playing.

And asking people what level they are adds me to his conspiracy theory? I bet he lives in a cabin in Montana and writes hate letters to the government. I was told the poll options were limited so I couldn't ask for straight 1-20 choices. That's why I asked if someone was over 10 that they mention the exact level.Riotnrrd wrote:My PC is level 12.
I recommend you put options for 11-20 instead of 10+. You're going to get flawed results with your current poll.

Okay. I don't see how asking the players to give us an average on how many hours their in-game could be tied into DMs playing. They play and it's well known that they play a lot but I'm hardly the one to say something about it. That's the domain of Admin and the HDMs.Danubus wrote:Cause they think its a witch hunt and its not. Its just to find out where ALFA stands with our playerbase. I must say though, the paranoia and anger I'm seeing lately has been a real eye-opener for me.
