At 2nd level, a ranger must select one of two combat styles to pursue: archery or two-weapon combat. He loses all benefits of his combat style when wearing medium or heavy armor. At 2nd, 6th, and 11th level he gains new feats based on what combat style he chose, even if he does not meet the prerequisites.

Basic

At 2nd level, a ranger may choose between Two-Weapon Fighting or Rapid Shot.

Improved

At 6th level, a ranger may choose between Improved Two-Weapon Fighting or Manyshot.

Mastered

At 11th level, a ranger may choose between Improved Rapidshot or Greater Two-Weapon Fighting.
