This may be a good example of the vaccine being more toxic than the disease it is intended to prevent. I suppose that one way to be certain that nobody cheats is to have nobody playing at all.FoamBats4All wrote:Hear, hear!Arianna wrote:I for one will not, ever support the DM where you play concept, or the removal of Perma-death. And one way to be sure that every running server is full is to drive off everyone who can keep a server up.Duck One wrote:This may be a good example of the vaccine being more toxic than the disease it is intended to prevent. So we have reached the stage where we are beholden to the desires of those who host the servers, whether it is good for the community or not?Zelknolf wrote:And one way to be sure that every running server is full is to drive off everyone who can keep a server up.Duck One wrote:This may be a good example of the vaccine being more toxic than the disease it is intended to prevent. Dude. Swift. You don't play. You don't DM. What possible benefit could you get from permission to do both at once, when you won't even do one?
Anyway, one way to have no hosted servers is to drive the few remaining players away by trying to please people who will never come back. What is good for the community isn't to drive the only active contributors away.

I would do both, if it were allowed. Silverymoon is the only server that interests me, out of what we have in ALFA. Personal preference and all.FoamBats4All wrote:Dude. Swift. You don't play. Curm and myself have had numerous conversations where we agreed to disagree on this issue.
Whats that? A former member who might be enticed back? Preposterous.

Is this a trick question or something? Hidden cameras and a crew of douchey TV personalities who are going to laugh and use whatever this decade's word for "punked" is?Swift wrote:So we have reached the stage where we are beholden to the desires of those who host the servers, whether it is good for the community or not?
These people literally provide us with the game we play. If these people don't like the place anymore, they will stop helping us, and we won't have a game to play anymore. They will do the exact thing that you're doing right now, but their contributions are more valuable than the potential you're trying to dangle. If you want your opinions to carry more weight, you either need the agreement of more people or the agreement of more-valuable people.
