What are ALFA numbers like these days?

Post by Galadorn »

Just curious is all. I usually play alone, and don't mind if there's none or a hundred players still wandering the roads picking up mushrooms... but for curiosity sake, does anyone know what kind of population of players is happening currently?

Plus, it looks like all servers are down on Gamespy... is ALFA still on the go?

All of the servers are up; there were people on Baldur's Gate when you posted this. Make sure you're using the latest client extension and such, direct connect if that's not working.

Population overall is pretty low compared to the good times -- it's at about 30 players (compare to 'about 50' one month after ALFA2's live, or 'about 90' at our peak in 2011) and we're much more spread out than usual (typically two of our servers are being ignored; right now it doesn't look like any of them are-- all of them seem to have one DM with one series of events, mostly between Friday and Saturday), but there's still some game to be had here.

Nearly every time I log in to play I have at least a party of 4, and up to 7. About 50% of the time a DM.

As for the total player base? Not that important to me:)

Role up a newb and come play in our odd-timezoned weekly session.

You need to download Skywings Client Extender, set it up. and you will see all the servers again. It will also help you log in faster.

I get a recurring: "This webpage is not available."

..but as usual, my internet connection is terrible, and I live in China. So to use Facebook and get to anything worthwhile we need a VPN connection so big-brother-Chinaman does not think I can read/see the evil western influences of real life... ...so I might need a VPN...or just a better connection speed (mornings are faster), in order to even see the URL you posted Foam...

Thank you by the way, i'm still trying... :(

BU!!

I am here for you buddy. You get the client extension at this link:

http://www.nynaeve.net/Skywing/NWN2/cli ... Latest.zip

it is just over 500k so not huge at all. It is a zipped file you will need to unzip.

Inside is a readme file which basically boils down to this, you will be running the game using the file NWLauncher.exe that is in this zip rather than the standard NWN2 launcher that comes with the game. I made a shortcut to this file by right clicking on it and choosing "send to desktop, create a shortcut"

I will load up chat to see if you are there.
