Question after comeback...

Post by rorax »

So I've made my comeback...

Between family, work and studies, I have less than 1 hour a day to play on average, most of the time I find myself alone on the server.

So how should high level char make some progress nowadays without DM presence online?

Just my 2 cents... If you're on without a DM or other players, there's not a lot of options for higher lvls, if you mean by progress gaining xp beyond what the scripted rp xp gives.

Honestly, at higher lvls in alfa you really don't stand to benefit a lot from gaining xp; the higher level you are the more tricky it can be to find level appropriate interaction (definitely the case with static content interaction). It's better to try and look for other ways to 'progress', though inevitably that also involves other PCs and/or DMs. If you regularly find yourself alone on MS then I'd suggest a different server might fit your schedule better.

Current main: Ky - something

It’s not the critic who counts...The credit belongs to the man who actually is in the arena, who strives violently, who errs and comes up short again and again...who if he wins, knows the triumph of high achievement, but who if he fails, fails while daring greatly.-T. Roosevelt

Yeah, I feared that would be the answer :)

I'm slowly crawling up the CRs on static content. It'd mean coming to BG, and you'd probably eat it all up in a month or two at an hour a day, but it's something to do-- and sometimes consistently being around and doing stuff at a time for a while gets people to pop in and want to play. And failing that, can always hop onto the new ones as they get finished.

There's also the possibility that we get all of BG's needs handled and then we can get some infestations in play. We got a little bit of weird last time (kobolds invading Throrgar, for instance; totally by design of the system, but still complete nonsense in character), but if they're used properly, they're a way for anyone to contribute to going events on the server and be rewarded for it. Wynna's also working on getting TSM prepared for infestations, and we probably have enough combined ACR/module changes to coordinate a release soon-ish that repairs the university (granted, uni means making an alt-- but it's playable game).
