Let's Build: PC

Post by boombrakh »

So, i've been playing around with ideas on what to play as my second PC and I simply can't decide. So I had this idea, let's build it together. Everything from race, gender, sexual preference, name, attributes, skills, background, motivations, dark past, weakness, etc. Everything is up for discussion/grabs. And when it's done, we'll see what kind of monstrosity comes out the other end :D

The only requirement is that the character needs to be "real", as in someone who could actually exist in the world we play in.

---------------------------------------
Suggestions
---------------------------------------
Name
  • "Rupert Ramirez"
Race
  • Human (Tuigan)
  • Half-Orc
  • Gnome
  • Not an elf
Alignment
  • Evil
Class
  • Barbarian
  • Swashbuckler
Background
  • Abandoned as a infant, but found and raised by a family unit of mountain gorillas. Has left gorriladom to experience life with his own kind and out of fear of the dominant Silverback who he knew he could not best for breeding rights with the females. (Alt. stronger than a silverback gorilla, and arrives in civilization with his harem of sweet saucy gorillalasses.)
  • A fence who had a falling out with one of his masters in BG. You live in the docks ward now and scrounge an existence as a small time fence. In your spare time you look for tombs and monuments to rob. Your greatest desire is to stage a heist of Durlag's tower for the notoriety alone. Not above killing a competitor to get a deal or killing/robbing anyone who won't be missed such as visitors to BG.
  • gnome swashbuckler with a little man complex. Most important, he is a consummate adventurer. He does not open doors, he kicks them open. He does not take stairs, he leaps from balconies. He does not say "well met", he bends barmaids over tables, while drinking wine straight from the bottle. (And probably hates elves).
  • human priest of Garagos who faints at the sight of blood
---------------------------------------

EDIT: I am counting on Twax to make a picture of this character :P

pragmatic (adj.)
The opposite of idealistic is pragmatic, a word that describes a philosophy of "doing what works best."
From Greek pragma "deed," the word has historically described philosophers and politicians who were
concerned more with real-world application of ideas than with abstract notions. A pragmatic person
is sensible, grounded, and practical.

Scratch that last bit-- half-orc barbarian (perhaps why he was abandoned?); he is stronger than a silverback gorilla, and arrives in civilization with his harem of sweet saucy gorillalasses.

I'm thinking you need to go evil. No cults though. Just straight up plotting evil.

Make him a fence who had a falling out with one of his masters in BG.

Be the person that makes BG the Detroit of FR.

Ok.

You must make a gnome swashbuckler with a little man complex. Most important, he is a consummate adventurer. He does not open doors, he kicks them open. He does not take stairs, he leaps from balconies. He does not say "well met", he bends barmaids over tables, while drinking wine straight from the bottle.

His name is "Rupert Ramirez".

Please note, he is not an elf. (And probably hates elves).

^ absolutely NOT.

Gnomes are widely known as the most terrible race to ever play in any game setting anywhere. Not even kidding at all. I can't even believe after choosing human or half-Orc (both cool races) you could ever be so thwarted to ruin this thread by accepting even the temote possibility of even thinking about rolling a gnome.

You're dead to me.

I am not considering anything, the community will choose what it'll be by popular vote :)

You recently told me you like PCs who are at odds with themselves in some way. Contradictions or some such.

How about a human priest of Garagos who faints at the sight of blood?
Talk less. Listen more.
