Hak Rollout
Relatively-small update to the ACR going out today. Changes are...
-- Players can no longer equip the brown horse ownership item
-- DMs can #sethp to heal or damage their selected target
-- Tumble no longer provides a synergy bonus to alchemy
-- DMs have collisions disabled when they log in, so they can't clip PCs
-- NPCs on the ACR AI who are instructed to fight at range will not continue to use ranged weapons in the melee
-- NPCs on the ACR AI who acquire distance between themselves and their targets can pick and equip ranged weapons
-- ACR Item pricing counts pure silver weapons as automatically masterwork
-- Holy Word, Blasphemy, Dictum, and Word of Chaos now have their PnP area of effect (40 feet, previously 30 feet)
-- Alter Self is added as an RP spell
-- Hammer of the Gods is split into the pen and paper spells: Holy Smite, Unholy Blight, Order's Wrath, and Chaos Hammer -- PCs will need to prepare the new spells, provided they have the appropriate domain. NPCs tooled with Hammer of the Gods will see it function like an alignment-appropriate spell.
-- Default merchant scripts are converted to play nicer with the ACR
-- Horses should try to remember how many hit points they have when they're mounted, and return to that many hit points when dismounted.
As of this post, WHL has failed to update. It will need some TLC to get up to date.
TSM was occupied; anyone with access can prompt a restart to make it update.
BG and MS are up to date.

I accept all rage for PnPizing Hammer of the Gods. Bring it on, clerics!
Also hopefully #sethp is actually useful for DMs. Please post if you want other cheap and easy text tools to make your life easier.

On the point of #sethp, it has immediately revealed a bug in old old code from acr_tools_i.
So! Modules, if you use SetHitPoints from that library, it will also behave like I'm about to describe.
#sethitpoints will, until we get a fix rolled out, deal damage equal to its argument, unless the number you specify is more than the creature's current hit points, then it will heal.
e.g. target has 30 hp--
#sethp 10 does 10 damage
#sethp 30 does nothing
#sethp 31 heals it for 31 damage.
Unambiguous bug. Should be an easy enough fix, but it needs to be fixed. New stuff was pretty well ambushed by the old stuff's behavior.

Hammer of the Gods questions.
(1) What do TN clerics get? Assuming nothing, or maybe these guys could retain the existing HotG?
(2) Consumable HotG items out in the wild already (such as scrolls... which probably the consumables crafting system will also retain even if impossible to imbue these items), how if at all will they function? Check out the user's alignment and go from there?
(3) New 4 spells if reduced to scroll form, is anything going to prevent an evil cleric from using a Holy Smite scroll, or a good guy UMD user from blasting an Unholy Blight scroll off etc?
(4) Are these spells party friendly or party unfriendly?

Tooled creatures and items with HotG will check the caster's alignment (preferring good/evil over law/chaos) and turn into Holy Smite, Unholy Blight, Order's Wrath, and Chaos Hammer. However, this is not something you should rely on long-term, as the conditions that we're trying to emulate for scroll activation ("•The user must have the spell on his or her class list.") will not apply for any good cleric (as a good cleric cannot follow an evil deity, and only evil deities have evil domain and thus have the ability to put unholy blight on the cleric's spell list).
And, of course, Unholy Blight is has the [Evil] descriptor. By canon, a cleric of a good deity who manages to cast Unholy Blight from an item falls for doing so-- just as if the cleric had cast any evil-desciptor spell (like Create Undead or, interestingly enough, Contagion).
// edit, also to clarify Foam's response: these spells all target by alignment. So if you cast chaos hammer and your whole party is chaotic, it's "Party Friendly" for that party-- but if you cast Holy Smite and your party has the one evil rogue who's on the downlow, he gets blasted.
