Seeking Host for 089 Sembia

With the demise of Dungeon Server, Sembia has been homeless. Zelknolf was kind enough to take us in as a stray, but we have outstayed our welcome. I would like to relieve her of this burden and relocate to another home. My intent is to keep Sembia up as long as we have a player base, so this commitment would likely last at least until the end of 2008.

I don't need an uber-geek (although it is helpful...lol), just someone with a decent rig, something better than 56k dial-up, and the ability to use the FTP. A regular presence in mIRC (or access to PMs) helps for reboots when required. If you are interested, please post here, PM me, or leave me a tell in mIRC. I am willing to do a trial run if you are concerned about any of the above conditions.

AD Hosting works out at about £21 (or $25) per month for 16 players ..

At current exchange rates Id pay in dollars as my credit card makes that about £12/month which is much cheaper than Dungeonser were!

I've been hosting the OAS 1 for HEEGZ, and he's now informed me that they should be able to come up with another host for it in January.

Which means I have a free box. I have not hosted any live modules on it, so I don't know about possible problems (lag) connecting to the vault.

What I can provide is:
- A free box.
- A decent line (located in Norway).
- A remote connection (VNC) for the HDM (so he can restart nwnserver or restart the whole box).
- Normally a less than 24 hours response time if there are problems with the line/box.

I can start working on this after X-mas. First I need to get rid of some strange things on the OS, but then it should be all set to go.

Specifications for the box and the line:
- AMD Athlon 1.8 Ghz
- 512 MB Ram (can be upgraded if needed, but will cost money)
- ADSL
- 8000/850 kbit/s down/up (can be upgraded to 1000 kbit/s up, but will cost money)

The line is currently shared with 4 people.
- 3 play nwn.
- 2 use torrent (limited to 100/10 kBs)
If I play nwn I don't use torrent, same with the other person.

Iarwain, I truly appreciate the offer. Once you work through the issues, I would like to do a trial run with you. We can work out the timeline via PM. This might be the solution we are seeking.
