Welcome NW Citadel

Post by Wynna »

Please welcome dunniteowl, one of the leaders of NW Citadel. Dunniteowl and his team of builders have been turning out custom content for the game for quite some time now, and have built up an impressive group of creators and content set.

Dunniteowl will be putting his head together with Cipher's team in the NWN2 forums to see what the future might hold when experts work together. As an affiliate of ALFA, dunniteowl will have posting and reading rights in the public forums and the wiki, although affiliates won't have playing access to the servers.

I do hope that this is but the first of many such affiliations with other respected NWN communities. Welcome to ALFA!
Enjoy the game

A very Citadel Greeting!

Post by dunniteowl »

Thanks to all who have welcomed me (and to all those that would if they did.)

I know some of you know me and that's great. Some of you don't and that's great too. Hopefully, you'll get to know me or know me better.

If you haven't been over to the Citadel ever or recently, you'll see that we do have a lot of folks creating content. Primarily we have module makers working mostly on SP modules. However we do have a Project called the DMFI+FRW: City of Splendors, Waterdeep. We are attempting to create a series of DMFI compatible module areas that can be used for MP/DM play in Waterdeep.

Things have slowed down a bit as they usually do in this time of year. However, we were in the process of working up a partnership with ALFA during it's creation of Waterdeep for ALFA. Many of you know about the module corruption that took the wind out of the sails for ALFAs Waterdeep. It did not stop us.

We are still very interested in what ALFAns have to say on this project as we still intend to be able to faithfully recreate the areas we are working on. The real difference is that we are not attempting to create the entire city as an RP environment for a PW. However, that said, it is our intent that the module areas created could be incorporated (the project's aims were expanded rather quickly) into a DM/MP session, SP modules or into a PW. Therefore, what folks operating or playing in a PW have to say on the matter is still of interest to us.

Meanwhile, while I cannot RP due to the demands on time and my dialup connection, I am going to be reading what and where I can to get my legs under me before I do any level of posting other than things I am already comfortable in discussing. So expect to see me on a semi-regular basis here, though, you can always find me over at the Citadel (in one fashion or another) or on the NWN2 boards where I also moderate.

I think, in my honor, WotC has to add a new PrC. The Many Hatted Magician, where placing one kind of hat on the pate creates the illusion of someone who actually knows what he's doing in that area of expertise. :)

So, once again, thanks for having me and remember, you don't have to capitalize my handle dunniteowl and if you wish to reach me via email, you really can't. You all take care and enjoy. As your Community Representative, however, it is your duty to let me know what you'd like to see change in NWN2 and allow me to post that back to the Developers.

(I told you I wore many hats, right?)

my best regards,
dunniteowl

[ps: yes, it seems that some standards were relaxed to allow me through the door. Sheesh, it's happening everywhere, the bar is being lowered.]

Good to see you here. I admit I finally gave up on our WD project in July after losing alot of my work with the new toolset. I'm starting to get over it though and look forward to seeing what you guys have going on.
