Avatar is Albion?

Post by Charlie »

I've noticed a good bit of plot and character similarities between a 90s game called, Albion and the upcoming movie Avatar.

What do you think?

Starcraft v. Warcraft.

Or Space Marines v. Furries, I suppose. Good movie though.

I kept looking over at dergon_gf last night while were in the theatre saying "shumani tatanka! tatanka!"

70% Dances with wolves
10% Return of the Jedi (replace na'vi with Ewok ---paritcularly one of the chase scenes through the underbrush felt almost exactly like the one on Endor)
20% Aliens
PCs: NWN1: Trailyn "Wayfarer" Krast, Nashkel hayseed

NWN2: ??

I saw it.... Alien Indians with USB cords. How nice. The mech kinds of reminds me of Warhammer Juggernaughts with space marines for fodder. I could care less about the 3D in a movie. Beowulf was my first experience with 3D movies. Seeing Angelina Jolie naked in 3d did have its merits though. Now I hear the next cash hole is 3D TV sets.

Saw it tonight. Brilliant! Good to see Sigourney doing sci-fi again.

I was a bit hesitant at watching a 2hr40min flick in 3D but my eyes quickly adjusted and the experience was very enjoyable. A real rollercoaster of a good time.

Lots of snazzy critters and beasties, luminescent foliage, and over-sized blue-skinned wild elves with fiber-optic cables growing from their hair braids... 8)

<danielmn>: Yes,
<danielmn>: Easily.
