Solemn pronouncement

Post by Thangorn »

Hi all,

It is with heavy heart that bring you the following news.

I am withdrawing from all my ALFA related responsibilities including DMing, building for Moonsea or TSM or tech work that I promised to do (sorry Tom). Please revoke all my entitlements and remove me from the payroll :)

Its not cause I dont like the place cause I've always loved it or the people cause theres no one here I really dont like and a lot of you I hold a great fondness for. Its just that at the moment the digital world does not hold the appeal it once did and RL I am finding far more enjoyable.

I apologise to the oceania players that I couldnt find the will to finish what I started and I hope someone will pick up where I left off..

I apologise to those who still held a dim spark of hope that Moonsea would be built some time soon. I'm sure there's probably none left anyway :)

I apologise to the awesome TSM DM team. I've enjoyed working with you all and the support you gave me. keep those wonderous webs of plots woven tightly about the place as you have been.

And sorry finally to anyone I made a promise to and didnt deliver. If I come back i'll never again bite off more than I can chew.

If you are wondering where I am, I am probably up a crag somewhere overlooking lake wakatipu and holding on for dear life or perhaps hurtling down a bumpy dirty bike path in the middle of the new zealand bush.

To all my friends here in ALFA.. I wish you every success with the project and perhaps I'll find the will to drop by again. I'll still check the boards every now and then and you are all welcome to email me on thangorn@gmail.com (there's so much shit in my email box it doesnt matter if i post it).

You stay classy ALFA

I'm sad to see you go Thang. Real life is appealing though. Spent a couple of years there myself and thoroughly enjoyed it. But ALFA has her hook deeply embedded in all of us, so if you feel yourself being reeled back in, know that you'll be welcomed back.

Take care.

What is it with you Oceania people and giving up "the digital world" ?

I sense conspiracy by govt propaganda!

You're welcome back once you come to your senses sir :smirk:

First, Dez, thanks for all you've done - your building, your support for newbie builders, your invigorating DMing, and your RP.

I'm happy that you've (re)discovered the Real World out there - give us a wave off a mountaintop, a yell from a bike path. Don't be a stranger.

Sounds like you are going to have a great time. :D

By the way, how far did you (or if anyone else knows) get in the actual building process of the Moonsea area?

I demand you send us pictures of this beast kown as RL. I will have to see it with my own eyes..and perhaps send a team out to verify that it does indeed exsist.

Thanks for your time and your patience, no apologies need be given when you find that life has changed, and that you are growing. Grow strong on those biketrails, and scream your lungs out for the both of us as you grab bulls by horns. :)

It's sad and unfortunate to see you go mate, but I can understand the allure/requirements of RL as well as anyone so your decision makes complete sense.

Have fun, drop us a line every once in a while to let us know you still live, and we'll look forward to the point where your life gets boring enough to bring you back to ALFA :D

We'll leave a light on for your return mate!
There's a place I like to hide
A doorway that I run through in the night
Relax child, you were there
But only didn't realize and you were scared
It's a place where you will learn
To face your fears, retrace the years
And ride the whims of your mind
