Waterdeep NWN2

Post by Rick7475 »

Just to let everyone know I will be asking for permission to take on Waterdeep for NWN2 since Cipher has left. I have a team of 4 assembled and a host. This project will be long term.

Perhaps it would be wise to focus all our efforts on finishing the two current beta servers before moving on? The Moonsea and Baldur's Gate.

Waterdeep was being developed as an initial server before or concurrently with the other two, so it isn't really moving on, it is finishing what was started. WD also has exteriors started by Indio and since Indio is developing Skull Port, the connection is useful.

That's true. Waterdeep had that whole cityscape in 4 beautiful sections, IIRC. It'd be great to have that continued upon. Good for you, Rick!

<Thrasymachus>I gotta tell ya, Being the HDM of WD is like dating the school ho. Everytime ya get intimate ya notice another tat on her but with a friends (or rivals) name

Does this apply to the efforts? (Read:Are you gonna Muggle proof all the doors? It's sort IC that they would based on past experiances... and what about all them damn undead rats...?

*grins and looks forward to old memories, anyway*
<Gebb> ok, what does it mean to be "huggled"? <spidroth_esq> Something terrible. <Squamatus> buggered <Dran> sodomised <Squamatus> by an acorn on a stick <tresca> LOL <Gebb> that didn't help <alynn&gt

I approve of this thread. This rick fella seems nice and saucy as does this WHAT-ER-DEEP place. ALFA waits with great anticipation.

My only conern, Rick...did Cipher just step down from his Admin position or did he quit ALFA altogether? If he didnt quit did he give up his right to do WD? I think thats a bit unclear at this point..at least for me.

When was the last time you heard anything about the Waterdeep server that wasn't from Indio?

The only 2 servers that have even looked to be in active development since TSM went live are Moonsea and Baldurs Gate.

I think it a safe call to go ahead with it if Rick has a willing team.

Simply because cipher had not been very vocal of it doesn't mean that work hasn't been done. As he is the current lead for the project and out of deference for the work he's done, I wish any changes made to have his approval.
People talk of bestial cruelty, but that's a great injustice and insult to the beasts; a beast can never be so cruel as man, so artistically cruel.

Thanks Paazin. thats what I was curious about. It wouldnt be fair to yank the WD server out from under his feet unless he says its cool for them to go ahead and take it.

You have a new man for the job and the show must go on. Consider approvals and blessings given.

Thanks for the PM Paazin. Best of luck Rick.
