Over the past few weeks the signs of a building presence from the crypts has become increasingly evident. Pools of shadow form near cracks in the earth, occasionally erupting into domes of utter blackness from which the servants come.

Rumours have spread of an artifact that has arrived recently from Silverymoon under heavy guard.

A few possess knowledge of that which stirs... who will act?

Marshal Kadalion stands on the rooftop watching the group of adventurers as they enter the crypts. Night has just fallen and a row of torches line both banks of the river. With all available healers ready to act.. he prepares for a long night of waiting, watching, and hoping.

Noticing the dawn star appear on the horizon, he looks back to his rescue force of six local militia and prepares to make the command to enter the crypt and determine what has happened... when a great splitting sound is heard coming from the direction of the crypt. Just before dawn breaks a purple shaft of light reaches down to the ground from above... followed by a rumbling of the earth. Kadalion scrambles to his feet and leaps off the roof... running full sprint to the crypt gate...

The rest of the story belongs to the players.

A big thanks to indio for putting the second layer of the crypt area together for us. The players did a fine job of taking care of each other and hopefully enjoyed themselves. It was a good learning experience for me, getting used to the DM client and seeing what we can do with NWN2.

It was a very enjoyable event. I hardly expected to see what happened at the end, but I stand corrected.

I think some people have to learn that a placeable in an area does not actually make it part of the plot and should merely be taken in as atmosphere unless the DM states otherwise. Otherwise, I'd say everything went smoothly and, as always, it's appreciated that you are willing to DM more than a handful of PCs at once.

Looking forward to how things will pan out in the future regarding the situation. The crypts itself may be gone (for now), but there's certainly more to be done.
