1. Please give us a scheduled time to log in and be at High Hold

2. Please split us into groups and send the rest to wait in IRC to preserve the server stability or even have DMs boot non-involved characters off to keep the system stable.

Remember  Lag kills.

all seems very sensible!

You can't really force an entire population to stay off. In fact, I can guarantee it will drive some of the new players off. Like with last night's dwarf night, players may refrain from logging on from their own free will (some of us did, some of us saw DMs and did not), but there's no way you can force everyone but <x> to stay off.

Just to pipe in with my player admin hat for a moment, magile is right

We can organize people as best as we can to reduce lag, but force kicking new members off the server is a no go as far as I am concerned, that is totally counterproductive to the recruitment we've been doing recently. Plan carefully among the group involved, split up as you said, but we cant remove non involved new members justtrying to get a feel for the server. if anything try to involve them and offer them some mercenary money for this big fight.

Kinda like the idea of getting all the level 1s involved actually

seriously though, perhaps we could have it split into three?

main assault for those already involved with a couple of levels and have already been paid.

A skirmish for the new players perhaps.

All are always welcome to my events (except those that are IC secret, of course  ).

Wynna has spent quite a bit of effort trimming bits and bytes, so we should be good.

Once inside the *mmfffttt*, the area is smaller anyway, ...so I don't anticipate problems there either.

A far more pressing issue is that my mice don't run anymore...so if anyone has words of wisdom to share in the Technical Help forum thread...*points*...please do ASAP :wall:

I am ready to roll. Fridge full of both beer and caffeinated soda.

I should be on from about 1-2 pm US East until we wrap.

I have noticed many new faces.

IC Rathalan is aggressively recruiting any able bodied man or woman who an swing a blade, flaunch a bowshot, or cast a spell on the behalf of the forces of Righteousness. So please come and join in!..

OOC..the more the merrier (as long as JLM is good with it, which he is :) ) ....so please come and join in! ( no survival guarantees of course, but we do have a pretty skilled DM team ))

Yes and no, a lot of folks have a hard time getting ANY DM time so making them choose from that perspective is a bit harsh. (thinking of us Euros on opposite time zones as per rorax's thread here)
Although the moral decision should be easy, stop the undead that would otherwise claim a lot of elven lives and damage the ideals of ancient Myth Drannor or..... not? ;)

p.s. Corellon teaches to help those in need ;)
Pffft, not everybody holds the ideals of Myth Drannor to such lofty heights :P

PS: I know what its like to struggle for DM time. I am aussie. I see DMs on weekends if I am lucky :P
