Because she liked to be noticed, many dockworkers did and likely remarked upon a golden-haired young human woman in a bright red dance boarding the ship bound upriver for The Silver Marches. She was seen to stumble on the ramp and seemed to enjoy being helped aboard by the strapping and handsome dockhand she fell against. Some likely overheard her mention to the bosan summing the list that her name was Flora.

A panicked farmer came into town, barking a tale of how he nearly escaped the Banshee's wrath when his daughter became lost in the forests.

The story along with others has begun to panick some of the locals. Minstrels and Bards around town have created a popular song of the great fiend.

Rumours gather around the Elfsong that during the last tenday, the tavern payed witness to a crazed white haired girl diving out from one of the storage rooms, wearing not more than a loincloth and some coverings, then set about attempting to dance on one of the tables, much to the disapproval of the current occupants and the dismay of the woman, given they were more interested in the song than her.

Like all good things, the show promptly ended when the innkeeper went to call the guards and the white haired woman made a hasty exit.

(also, might be a good idea to boot this thread to the ic forum ;) )

The Temples are busy with bodies being dragged in on an almost daily basis, Both the Tymoran and Lathanderian Chruch are hard pressed to handle the dead.

The influx of new adventurers due to the rumors of undead in the region, might be the cause as to why so many have been found slain on the road.

(just thought I'd mention it, it ought to cause a few rumors after all?)

An old storyteller begins a tale near the fires of the Blushing Mermaid. A few sailors gather around and listen.
*rubs on his willow white beard and pulls up his gold sleeves*
Oh my friends, dark times are these. Times when men no longer can look foward to the resting of their hollow bones. You see for between the Timbers of the Cloak Wood Forest and The Wood of Sharp Teeth lies a road. A road that trickles down the Coast Way and hides a great many secrets. Though the Flaming Fists may give argument that these roads are as safe as a mother's breast, I warn you now that a battle rages on each moon rise.

You see friends, there is a rivalry...A rivalry stronger then any Horse and deeper then any trench. It seers between a hungry Banshee with her army of spirits and a Queen of Hags, with her flesh rotten corpses. Every night these bands of dead rip from their graves and meet at the roads where they tear into each other like a starved man at a King's feast. And every night *puffs on his corn cob pipe* any traveler or merchant who gets caught between this argument of the dead becomes a new piece of thread in the ball of twine that is the Dead Man's War.

So head my warning my hardy mates who share a stine with me. For we are the fortunate who can still warm ourselves by the dancing fire. Others be not so lucky and their tragic souls lie in torment for eternity; like rain that falls into the river and back up from the winds only to be cried out by the clouds again.

Recently an additon to the Rose portal (Shrine to Lathander) have been seen by citizens and adventurers alike, the young Alexis Mars, offering her healing services to those brave adventurers who dare face the undead threats to the city.

Brother Geroge from the Shrine and Father Richar of the Song of the Morning Temple are now used to the young acolyte visiting them both frequently. Alexis herself can be sought for healing aid in either location. (Or somewhere in between during her morning jogs)

Recently a band of adventurers gathered at the Helm and Cloak to discuss the fighting they had just witnessed between the Banshee Striga and the Hag Bolnak when a red haired elf disrupted the conversation with complaints of disgust at the actions of Alexis Cleric of Lathander who he accused of violating the corpse and memory of a recently fallen companion.

An exceptionally haggard band of adventurers limped into the Friendly Arms Inn to seek refuge and help with their wounded at the Temple of Garl Glittergold. Amongst their ranks was a young woman with short black hair sturdy armor and a sword upon her hip, a man clad in purple robes and an impressively black pointy hat, another young woman with bright red hair pulled back in a pony tail the others seemed to be helping limp along, and a red haired elf who was clad in black leathers. The wary band limped into the temple and lingered inside for sometime, before heading into the Inn to seek rest in the form of strong drink and soft beds.

A large band of weary adventurers entered the city just as the night was falling across the land. They brought with them two children who look far more weary and battered then the adventurers. They all proceeded to the Rose Portal Shrine where the children were left in the care of Brother Maynard, afterwards the band went to the Helm and Cloak for drinking and tale telling of the encounter they just had....They spoke of fighting Ogres and a Giant, They spoke of other children who need to be saved, and then the Red Haired Elf with a bottle of brandy in hand stood to make an announcement.

"THIS WAS FOUND AMONGST THE OGRES!"

he then displayed a white pearl to the crowded common room of the inn.

"THIS PEARL IS WORTH EIGHTY COINS AND I SAY WE GIVE IT TO BROTHER MAYNARD TO SEE THE CHILDREN CARED FOR!"

All the of the patrons seemed to agree that was a fine idea and some cheered

"I SAY ANY WHO SAY OTHERWISE MATE WITH MALE ORCISH BY CHOICE !"

afterwards the elf quietly left with his bottle of brandy in hand.

A crowd of angry and concerned commoners arrive at the Fists steps.
Image After the Fists calms the group down and assures them they are doing everything to destroy this Hag and protect the children; a Gnome geared in saffron colored leathers arrives and begins playing his lute to the commoners.

[Replace electronic rocking of electric guitar with lute jamming]
After the music, the whispering of folk can be heard. Some become more angry and others rethink their demands.

*A haunting song is played at the Blushing Mermaid by a Bard dressed in black*
Image
The fog, The fog, the Fog is in the city,
Oh look, walking dead...such a nasty pitty.
The Ship is sinking and the leak is just what we deserve,
Defying the gods, Oh what nerve!

The Fog, the fog, the fog is in town,
Oh little boy and girl its time for you to frown.
Frown for your father and mothers deed,
For they have planted oh such a wicked seed.

The fog, the fog, gift of the Hag Queen,
And oh my friend what ever does that mean?
Children screaming as they are cursed in blood,
The damn has broke, here comes the flood.

The Fog, the Fog ,The fog is here to Stay.

*sinister lute playing followed with a menacing grin by the bard*

Rumours suggest that the terror of the coastway and the mutilator of children, Bolnak the Hag has been slain by a band of adventurers that set out originally only to defend the city from it's oncoming enemies, the walking dead. It is rumoured that Kalana Du'Monte, a squire of Kelemvor will present the preserved head of the hag to the Dukes later on in the evening as proof of the deed.

Still, darker whisperings speak of a greater evil that will be released because of the death of the Hag, one that went ignored by one exhausted Squire who collapsed in a bed to sleep as long as she could.

Again, the rumours suggest that the Queen of Hags has finally been killed!

The Helm and Cloak is abuzz with talk of a beautiful woman cloaked in white who sang a haunting tale of the fall of an ancient elven city to an enrapt audience. Several patrons, as well as the local bard who played for her and the tavern host, were left close to tears or openly weeping at the conclusion of her song. One young golden haired warrior called Njord was particularly taken with the strange visitor. Several regulars have also been heard to gossip at how the tavern host openly chastised the Banite Barid for disparaging the songstress and her performance.

The last two weeks have been quite intense. Baldurian citizens beg for answers from their already over-worked Flaming Fists Guards reguarding the occasional bursts of fire, whips of thunder, and pounding of tree lines just outside the city.
Image

Citizens have watched as units of Fists' members along with the occasional Red Thayan Wizard charge into the wilds upon hearing the alarming sounds.
Image

And corpses of mummified men and women have been found occasionally within the Forests with frightening balls of light hovering over their mutilated corpses.
Image

What goes on? Not many know and the few that do...aren't speaking.
