yes I have a 8800GTS 320Mb graphics card..

Wahoo! And I just got an out of memory exception in NW2ToolsetLauncher.dll when I tried to copy all my placeables across from one area to another at once (I still had a version of the area that is not too far back when I wisely decided that it might be a good time to save a module version for good luck)..

The crashes I have with YATT only come when writing terrain attributes and the exception always occurs in the NW2Toolsetrenderer.dll at those times but I am able to create many and varied crashes, crashing is my area of expertise when it comes to the toolset :)

Sorry for the bitching. For the record, this recent showing from Indio has me wanting to toolset again for the first time in a long time.

I reserve the right to bitch in the future tho

Regulare crashes in the toolset would have me do the following:

- De-install NWN2 (backup usual files)
- De-install .Net framework
- De-install Video driver
- Manually delete all NWN2 regitry residue
- Check the My Docs/NWN2 directories are completey gone

- Reinstall latest nVdia driver, .Net framework and then the game

And because I'm an all or nothing kind of guy, I'd spend the $60 on a new hard drive, install WinXP, partition it into 3 drives...C for windows files, F for My Docs and G for programs, then install the game anew.

Nw that's obviously overkill, but the clean sweep reinstall outlined above is probably worth it. In honesty, you should not be crashing at all on a desktop anymore, so I suspect when you installed MotB, or any revious patch, files were left in your Override folder, corrupting game files.

I'm actually going to be doing a reinstall myself in the next 2 days so I can set up a raid on my main build machine.

Waterdeep logistics are mind-blowing, and I haven't even managed to touch areas yet...I've just been preparing things. Prefabs, names, placeable categories, backup procedures, computer settings....I'm re-evaluating the lot so I don't make mistakes and can do the build as efficiently as possible.

Do it in stages then. Try the video driver first. Get the latest from nVidia, uninstall, reboot, instal new, reboot. Should take 5 mins.

done the complete re-install, thanks for the assistance indio.

Only problem is, now I'm stuck with patch 1.11 :/ why no goddam rollbacks Atari.. TNT's nwpatcher only does roll backs if you've updated with it..

oh well. guess it'll be time for another game install tomorrow

At this point, you might want to leave it at 1.11 and just walk softly- we should have patched haks ready shortly, just waiting on the hotfix due out any time now.

Though tedious, you could have used the manual patches on the vault to patch up to the level you desired (presumably 1.10). Keep that in mind if you need to reinstall another time and do not want the most recent patch.

Indio, are you happy with the way your guide looks? Your latest screenshots did it. I'm posting to the PW Roundtable and a few other places and including screenshots and a link to your guide as soon as you say it's ready.
Enjoy the game
