No. Military action would be stupid and isn't likely to happen, and Europe has a long history of doing just fine without Russia. Assuming this ends up as anything worse than what they've had, anyway.

We've seen what happens to countries that the US decides to "Help" these days.

I *like* having fresh water and electricity. And not getting shot or blown up.

Now let's be fair. Not all countries that we help out are screwed up. Look at Japan.

But honestly US aid isn't always a bad. Look at Kuwait. The country has sprung back to life since the first gulf war (mainly due to their own efforts) but the US did help and not in a minute way.

The main problem is when the US gets involved in countries where there isn't almost complete multi-national support and/or the desire of the local population to have us there. And honestly I think that's how it is and should be with the foreign policy of any country these days.

In all seriousness though, I don't want military conflict with any form of Russia, free or otherwise. I think we just need to beat them to space, and we'll be fine. Mars,for example. Bringing freedom to the oppressed martians of Mars.

Since Russia supplies a large amount of gas and oil to Europe, they have a hell of alot more influence than people realize. Russia has Europe almost by the short and curlies.
