The Plan for the Goblin King

Post by Rumple C »

Hi all,

So we now have the location of the doors to the goblin king (0406). 0406 Leads to to a building in 2J.

Ayergo has strongly suggested we pool our collected knowledge on what we know of him to be better prepared for taking him down. I'll use this first post to accumulate info from the various peoples.

Known to be true

There is a goblin king (Source Clarence via Were-rats, and seen)
 There are zealots with the king
 There are elites with the king
 There are Thayans in the same building as the king
 The goblin king is a man sized gobbo with a greataxe

There is a goblin god, speculated a large beast
 The goblin god has a large scaly jaw (Source Keryn and Clarence via scry)

The goblins/thayans are in league with the Xanathar AND Drow
 Xanathar traded Kree to the Goblins
 The Xanathar trade slaves with the Drow (Source The writings of Ashale'n Dervise)
 Street kids sell stray dogs to the Thayans

I have a plan beyond just kicking in the door.

We head in... In disguise, as Thayans. Catch them by surprise, or if it looks too tough, politely bow out.

A little make up on Shay and we have ourselves a genuine drow as well. She could be translator.

Red robes and black armor dye should get the rest of us over the line. The regular elvsies might need a little more thought though...

Or a little poison slipped into the (presumed) breakfast for the goblin god? Something that reduces it's will save perhaps? If it is an animal or beast, then C could possibly convince it to switch sides.

I think we will need as full a crew as possible for whatever we plan.

From a DM point of view these threads are great.

In PnP a DM would chill with people pre-post game and get to listen to you making plans and deciding what to do. In NWN so much of that is missing.

Being able to get a window inside your plans and what you're thinking (ICly and OOCly) is super valuable and helps us tweak the world to make it better for everyone, or figure out a great way the world reacts to your planned actions instead of having to make it up on the fly when we find out as you do it.

Drow and Goblin are two of Shay's languages. Coloration wise, she is just a light skinned drow. And she certainly knows drow culture.

Unfortunately, I am working this Friday night. My next days off are Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

We have an unusual rotating schedule which I will not bother to explain here, but, it means I will not have a Friday off until October 27. Then I will have 3 Fridays in a row off ... then another dry spell. The problem here is that October 27 I will be in Detroit visiting one of my best friends and not able to game.

So, Shey is a good translator and could be a good fake-drow, but not on Fridays anytime soon.

I will be mostly US time zone come December so may be able to do something different. Will have some busy weekends though as I fly across the whole globe.
There's a place I like to hide
A doorway that I run through in the night
Relax child, you were there
But only didn't realize and you were scared
It's a place where you will learn
To face your fears, retrace the years
And ride the whims of your mind

Presumed true

The king is in league with the Thayans (Source Dahvet - Thayans seen guarding the door)

Oddities

Goblins deliver crates of meat to the goblin kings door - for feeding the "god"? (Source Clarence - seen in person)"[/quote]

**********************************************************

Jack reminds them that the Thayan ship which was held in port contained dried meat and fish. As for the plan to disguise as Thayans, Jack kept the robes of the Red Wizard.
