Oh it just occurred to me. The party probably wants some rest/RP after that fight. You're in a fairly secure place right now. If you want to you can feel free to log in during the week and RP amongst yourselves while resting without me there.

It'd cut down on time spent RPing at the start of next session.

Might be worth taking a day to scribe a scroll if DM rules the location is safe enough, 'fairly quiet, comfortable, and well-lit place in which to work. Any place suitable for preparing spells is suitable for making items' yada yada... though I think Aglaril would question spending too much time doing this; if we run into more close calls like yesterday we could attempt to return to this spot to rest and possibly scribe another scroll.

Suitable time this week? I see all three of us on in irc atm.

Test tomorrow, I should be relatively free after that, starting tomorrow about 2 hours after our usual start time.
I'll be around and see where you lot stand.

As for scribing if we go with a lv6 spell (heal) or 5th it would take more than a day (1650gp, and 1125gp respectively).

Keren would not object to anything really.
Spending a day on making scrolls means he can try to ward of recall us out (Assuming mages say it has no chance of killing us) Because as fun as it is to me OOCly he's really under prepared for this.
If it were up to him he'd rather bail out now, and return suitably prepared.
(tough i'm assuming it won't work and this is just IC banter of where he stands, i'm sure it can't happen)

Crafting items costs half of market value, so it's all less than 1000gp.

Some ideas for divine scrolls: scroll of Heal at caster lvl 11: 825gp, Death Ward at caster lvl 7: 350gp, Freedom of Movement caster lvl 7: 350gp, True Sight at clvl 9: 563gp. IMO these are all scrolls that are suitable for 'emergency utility' use that do not rely on save DCs and do not suffer too much from being set at minimum caster lvl. We have plenty of lesser restoration scrolls it seems so that's not necessary.

btw, Word of Recall will not work in a place where Teleportation of any sort doesn't work, unless the mage for some strange reason wanted to make exceptions for priestly intruders.

Also, Aglaril would make absolutely certain to get the instructions on how to operate the portal at the entrance from Farduk. After the close calls we've had, I would imagine Farduk might be motivated to agree that having more than one person know is a good idea.

btw, is Divination a viable RP spell for clerics Xan?

Before we depart on any crafting adventures l icly we may want to chase down the farduk clone. NPC wizard/portal teacher without his spellbook and equipment would be bad.

The Farduk clone I'd guess doesn't have very long before whatever was happening to 'us' finally takes it's toll and it 'dies'/breaks down etc. so I don't think he'd have gone too far. If I were him and thinking I were the real Farduk I would not go too far in fact, because he probably believes he still needs to fix things or he's going to die; in fact we can set a trap for him as that laboratory or the 'doppleganger Farduk' (i.e. the real one) is obviously critical for him trying to become 'cured' (unless he's figured out what the real deal is, possible with a smart wizard clone, in which case I don't know what he would do).

Also, Aglaril's not too concerned (though certainly sympathetic) about Farduk not having his spellbook for the immediate moment; a wizard of his lvl range can prepare spells from another (Aglaril's) mage's spellbook with rather trivial DC spellcraft checks (epecially since his main use of spells has been to cast Invisibility and hide during fights). So in summary, Aglaril's not going to think it's a high priority to try and chase down the clone with the party half dead and out of spells, although it might be a good idea for Keren to try to determine whether he's trackable.

Main thing is, if he doesnt "die" how bad he can mess things up for us.
And by our clones attacking us we can only assumed he'd like to do the same.
Didn't seem like opening the doors hastened the dying if anything it might have slowed it as there are ooze creatures running about.
Letting a possibly rival wizard running about in the dungeon with the same goal in mind as ours and with possible gear and dangerous spells and a habit to be invisible... Ouch.

So assuming he'll just poof seems far too positive.
I think we'll have to talk with the real Farduk and discuss what the Fake one might do...

Damn this could be tricky and horribly amusing.

I'm hearing waiting at least one rest cycle.

The party will need to lounge around for the better part of a day before they can rest/prepare spells properly. During that time Farduk will finish teaching Aglaril how to activate the portal. You can all chat amongst yourselves during that time period IG. If you want to take longer than that so you have the chance to scribe scrolls or try other misc spells we'll handle that during the next session.

Farduk repeats that in his study of the magical auras in this place that he believes any spell with a teleportation subset tag will fail. He doesn't know about divination specifically, though he says that he believes many divination spells are also suppressed. Though based on the fact that True Strike and See Invisibility both worked, it's clearly not all of them.

Some additional notes:
I'll assume everyone brought a week's worth of rations with them and it's been like 4-5 days at this point. It may become a problem in the future for people who don't have a means of acquiring magical sustenance of some sort.

Hully, Gregory and Albane do not reappear over the course of the day, though Aglaril's bat was in the tube with him.

Farduk is quite anxious to get his things back once the party is in better shape.

Two possibilities: this clone thinks he's the real Farduk, or he's figured out that he's a damaged clone wizard incapable of casting spells and seems to be literally falling apart.

If #1, his highest priority is to get healed/fixed/survive, which means he'll come back at some point, to either the lab and/or the real Farduk.
If #2, his actions might reveal something about the real Farduk (assuming the clones even when they realize what they are, still retain at least some of the original's memories and such), which Aglaril would be very interested in learning more about, though there's a very good chance that instinct for survival overrides all and he acts pretty much like #1.

Not too worried about him either way, though especially #2 could turn out very interesting from a RP perspective. I'm somewhat assuming that the reason the clones attacked us is because they thought they were the real deal and we the clones, and just before our minds got swapped out, we were anticipating we might need to put down the guys in the tubes (although to be fair Aglaril was more interested in talking to the nekkid, unarmed and rather good looking elf in the tube). I could be mistaken I guess, and somehow the clones default to a 'murder the originals on sight!' mode, though gauging by the clone Farduk's behavior that seems unlikely (i.e. matching behavior/retain memory/personality traits).

Note: ICly Aglaril might have a slightly different response than what I posted above, as he has to piece things together without having access to chunks of memory and relying heavily on information from whatever Daertho chooses to share... Aglaril would, of course, support getting back Farduk's stuff once the party is ready to continue on; he'd probably be more sympathetic if he had the memory of nearly panicking over thinking 'he' lost 'his' familiar, but if I understand the sequence correctly he has no such memory, and hearing it told to him secondhand doesn't have the same emotional impact. :P

So, availability this week? It'd be great to try and get Hully back into things as well, though I suspect it'd require Dergon and Xan touching base to figure out how that happens.

Friday or stupidly late for euros on the other days.

I'll need to spend an indeterminate amount of time with you three in advance so it'd be nice if we could get something done with that before Saturday.

I can do stupidly late...
But I fear for our decision making ability if we would.

Could likely do Friday this week, maybe in our regular time and if not, about 3-4 hours later.
