New campaign on MS

The Crew of the Queen Robyn is a player group operating on The Moonshaes, with plot centered on seafaring intrigue in the service of Queen Alicia Kendrick. The premise of the campaign is that all of the player characters are privateers, and joining the campaign involves being recruited to serve on The Queen Robyn.

Don't take level 3, if you end up swimming in XP; otherwise, feel free to roll your character.

I've also made a wiki page for the group:
http://www.alandfaraway.org/wiki/Crew_o ... ueen_Robyn

Which has a link to a time converter, so it should be easier than converting times from my post.

So just to be clear, any PC over level 2 is currently not playable in this campaign yes? Bummer.

Yup-- but the group will level up (provided that they don't get repeated TPKs-- but given my "kills vs. maimings/curses" ratio, it's more likely that they'll [finally appropriately!] have peg legs and hook hands instead of deaths and new toons), and you get through levels 1-2 at the same rate as you get through level 3, so it's pretty likely that folk below level 5 will be in range soon.

Damien will get involved around level 3 for the group. With stephen disappeared, there is no high level DM on MS unless orangetree was willing.

Let me know if I misread you on those ("this timeslot would be difficult" sometimes means "I will show up but I will grump" and sometimes that means "I'm trying to be polite about saying no." -- similarly, "I may attend" sometimes means "I would very much like to attend," sometimes means "Don't rule me out, but I'm seeing who else is going to be there," and sometimes means "I'm trying to say no indirectly.")

For folk who said they'd want to play but didn't respond to the timeslot, can I get a yes or no on the current time so we can get this list groomed to actual attendees?

Friday nights at 8pm works for me. My PC is almost to level 4 though, so level those other PCs up quick!

My PC is a ranged specialist who can also offer healing. (Ranger/Cleric).

Count me in! Im retirering my Calishite. With no DM for the Draconis group ATM Im looking to get my RP on.
New PC will likely be a rogue/fighter or swashbuckler sailor type with focus on melee. If the need for a front line or bow monkey healer is greater I can swing that way as well. Havent decided on race yet.

Reading the thread I saw mention of classes but nothing about ship positions (helmsmen, lookout, navigator, etc.). I'd like to play the cook if its still open?

Damien is a healer support/ranged druid with a focus on conjuration for buffed summons. He can get some healing spells, but he's much better in a buff/utility/support capacity.

If stephen ever comes back, I'll be rejoining his capmaign with Zyrus. If not, Damien is available friday nights EST.

No one has actually claimed any roles on the ship, at least insofar as making it sail and not sink goes. Also, no one has taken a weapon focus in belaying pin.

...

So, I guess kiyoti gets to be the cook.

Might add to the list that ships tend to be in serious need of carpentry (also, healing, but it sounds like the group has a couple off-healing types)-- medicine and carpentry don't really lend themselves to the high-risk high-adventure lifestyle of pretending to be pirates to mess up the work of political rivals.

Though of note that the Queen Robyn is a two-masted caravel; y'all won't be part of a huge crew. Should expect that positions will be combined and shuffled as circumstances change (though, related, once we level into all the folk interested, the ship will probably end up crewed almost-entirely by PCs, so I guess plan on being able to make a ship not sink without much NPC help).

I'll happily play a full healer. Healing cook sounds good to me. Now...what skill would cooking fall under?

Profession if you're a general "I make all variety of things that people eat" kind of cook, and Craft if you're some kind of super-fancy artsy "I make sugar sculptures that look like celebrities" cook. (or alchemy, if you're privateer Alton Brown).
