I saw it yesterday evening. It was too late for me on Sunday and Monday evening I saw the end of Broncos-Pats.

The difference with Peyton is his ability to read these coverages and blitzes at scrimage, audible the play, and then instantly hit the open guy on whatever timing route he is running to beat the coverage before the blitz gets to him. Not always, of course, but I think his ability to do so against the Sea Chicken D is going to decide the game. There is no QB like Manning (or Brady, though the Pats had an off year with crappy personal and a whole bunch of injury) in the NFC. Brees and Rodgers come close in skill level and maybe even surpass Manning and Brady in physical talent, but in terms of that mental presence and fusball knowledge they fall a little behind.

Anywho, should be a really great game.

I predict a thick haze of smoke in the stadium, with both teams meandering away at the half with red eyes, then eating a lot. Neither team will return for the second half, as they will have, whilst eating during halftime, turned on cartoons in the lockerrooms, and will not be able to tear themselves away.

Denver 26 Seattle 23

I don't predict a huge numbers game for Manning, but clutch passes for 1st downs when needed. If anyone puts up a big day (100 yards+, or 2td) I'd pick one of Denver's big receivers Julius or Demaryius Thomas. Prater has to make all the kicks, because Seattle is awesome in a short field.

Wow. I didn't expect things to be this lopsided; Denver offense hasn't shown up. Chancellor and the Seattle D definitely has.

I have watched it this morning in condensed form (thanks to NFL Gamepass) not after I saw the score (damn application on the Mac didn't want to start so I had to switch to the iPad and I forgot to turn off the scores there).

I think the first snap of Denver sums it up. Offensive line and Peyton not synchronous gives you a very bad performance. Add this that the Seahawks were quite good and there you are. Denver's defense was quite good against the run and restrained Lynch but then it couldn't win the match by itself.

Still shocked at how badly Denver's offense was, and I found myself wondering if Peyton Manning was 100%; the offensive line was terrible, agreed, but I also noticed he was getting dance-y feet in the pocket from the 1st quarter on.

Reminded me of the 85 Bears defense stuffing New England or the 2000 Ravens' defense vs Giants, but the thing is neither NE or Giants those years had high powered offenses like Denver did, nor a hall of fame QB coming off an unbelievable record breaking season like Peyton. It's really astonishing what the Seahawks' defense did this game/how badly Denver's offense broke down.

Glad I skipped this game in mock protest of it being held in my city. Easily one of the worst blow outs.
