Re: Planescape kickstarter
To be more precise, it is a kickstart for Torment.
In short, it will be a game in the same vein as Planescape: Torment and a large majority of the people behind PS:T are on board for this one. It is based on the world of Numanera which was written by Colin McComb (and kickstarted late last year). He, along with Monte Cook who is also on the team, were both involved with creating the world of Planescape back in the TSR days.
Chris Avellone, Lead Designer of PS:T, personally gave Brian Fargo his blessing to move forward with another Torment game.
This one is well worth the gamble, if for no other reason than to show there are still gamers out there interested in seriously deep, literary CRPGs.

Re: Planescape kickstarter
The only thing stopping me from bumping up to $45 from $35 is the lack of the soundtrack in that tier. I am going to wait until the last day or two in case they add new tiers that have what I want, otherwise I will debate pledging $53 to get the $45 tier with the $8 soundtrack addon.fluffmonster wrote:$45 gets you Torment *and* Wasteland 2. Re: Planescape kickstarter
Wasteland 2 looks to be shaping up nicely. A psuedo spiritual sequel of sorts to Jagged Alliance (2), one of the greatest games of all time.

Congratulations!
You are now an official backer of Torment: Tides of Numenera

pragmatic (adj.)
The opposite of idealistic is pragmatic, a word that describes a philosophy of "doing what works best."
From Greek pragma "deed," the word has historically described philosophers and politicians who were
concerned more with real-world application of ideas than with abstract notions. A pragmatic person
is sensible, grounded, and practical.

More money guys. At 3.5 the game has both Colin and Chris Avellone, whose powers combined were the creative team of PS:T. And Patrick Rothfuss who is awesome. And the dude who did Mask of the Betrayer. And Brian Mitsoda, who did VTM: Bloodlines. It's a pile of awesome.

The addition of Chris Avellone is just awesome. The writing team they are building for this game is stellar.Grand Fromage wrote:More money guys. Edit: I stepped up to the $50 tier which gives me everything from the $35 tier plus all the novellas that are going to be written. Still doesn't get me Wasteland 2. Ill consider my options

Re: Planescape kickstarter
