On arrival, Hazerin immediately questions Jye for long moments, among other things as to why Battlehammer has failed to commit his hundreds of troops to this immediate threat in his own lands with Settlestone so recently devestated. A deep angry scowl can be seen on his face as he goes to arighting what he can about the Human Outpost. From moving boulders over the gateway to drop, to rendering fat for cauldrons for boiling oil, to rigging the stairway to the top of fourthpeek to collapse when needed, the grizzled dwarf can be seen angrily helping prepare the defences, when not directly instructing the Legionmen there on some of the less fine points of battling giants.
In a mannerly but didactic tone Jye would answer the following:

"It is not the place of a young dwarf as yourself, who only started to to make a name for himself in the realms - to question the actions of the king. One can not presume to know what threats the king is currently dealing with and what resources he can expend.

More than so, the threat to region was certainly not immediate. So far the monsters and their leaders only retaliated after being attacked themselves. While the mere existence of evil near our borders is certainty something to watch and worry about, local initiatives of heroes is not always the best way to deal with the threat, certainly when such initiatives are not coordinated with the local allied forces in the region.

It is not expected from the king to mobilize high number of troops every time that local adventurers clash with evil forces."

When done talking, the scout mistress politely thanked to the dwarf, highly encouraged by his concern and willingness to aid the local forces recovering from the assault.

On the first break from the work, the scout mistress was seen handing the dwarf a small bottle of wine to show her gratitude.

It can be seen Hazerin has a few choice but well meaning words with Jye, as far as his responsibilites as dictated to himself by the Barakors of Felbarr, and that to question and maintain the defence of kin is among his many duties. He can be heard to explain that unlike most, he is not merely rambling about of his own will, but following direct orders from his superiors in reguards to the safety in the immediate area of Settlestone and it's surrounds.

After, Hazerin can be seen in a less dour mood, showing the legionaiires stationed at fourthpeak how to haul stones from below the Curtain Wall of the Fort directly up to the catapults themselves through the use of fishing nets and ropes, among other things.

Merry slips quietly up to the entrance and down the long hallway close to the two ogres standing guard. She waits patiently listening for any new of what the group is planning. After a few hours she hear movement deepr inside the tunnels. As the attention of the ogres is taken from the entrance she slowly slips out of the cave.

EDIT: After spending a few quite dats watching the movements of the ogres to and from the cave, Merrys slips back up to the Tower and helps out by tying Bullseye Lanterns to the outside of the battlements incase there is an attack at night.

As the night faded slowly into morning, the Legionairres of Rivermoot spotted them coming down from the hills. Indeed, two humans, two dwarves and an elf strode to the road and into the town, one of the humans bearing the body of a fallen Legionairre, and one of the dwarves with an orc head tied to his belt by the hair.

The battle with the orcs and their foul shaman of Gruumsh was a fierce one:

A great star was seen shooting low north over the Marches. Some proclaim it an ill omen, some say it is a sign the gods are returning to walk the lands. None say it can be a good thing.

After many uneventful days, legion scouts in Fourthpeaks region reported that they saw some giants and orcs activity near the cave that was previously raided.

((Spawns and loot are placed, suitable for higher levels balanced party of at least 4 members))

*Gwindor reports to Sergeant Wilson in Rivermoot, obviously shaken*

*gestures to the east*
Sergeant, you'll want to tell folk to be extra wary near Marcus' Tower for the next while.
A red dragon is sunning itself on a plateau just north of the road.

Massive force of giants, ogres and orcs assaulted the legion tower in Fourthpeaks once more. The high number of legion troops and dwarves from Settlestone gave the attackers a tough fight but eventually had to retreat from the tower when it was clear the battle is lost.

Dozens of legions soldiers and dwarves died in the attack and the giants force took over the tower.

((OOC: Please assume the tower is taken by giants and that they have presence there. I did not want to just leave spawns at the tower in case that anyone logged off from there and will be attacked straight when he logs back))

Thanks.
Most of us logged off there in the wee hours of the morning. Twas just too late for us to trudge all the way back to Silverymoon. The PCs however were planning on a short rest and then the long march.

Battered and bloodied, Hazerin arrives with the remainder of the troop of Fourthpeak at Settlestone after he and many others participated in its defence.

I'll be logging back in at Fourthpeak around 9pm EST tonight.
No real time to get in game until then.

In a hurried withdraw Kelnar made his way North into the foothill of the mountains with Hazerin toward Dwarvendarrow (what the longleggers call Settlestone).

The dwarves that had been working to ready defensive trenches at Fourthpeak have turned their attentions to the readying Settlestone for possible attack. Word has been sent furth up into the mountains along the short march to Mithril Hall, alerting King Bruenor Battlehammer to the threat to his domain stemming from the army to his South.
