ElCadaver is Building - Silverymoon

Post by ElCadaver »

Hi All,
I've asked the TSM team if they would like me to rebuild the interior of Silverymoon, and they accepted. Props to Indio for the work which he did on the original, I hope I can do the rebuild justice. There is so much more available for the toolset now than there was back then, and I plan to put it to good use. So far I have laid out the foundations of the city, and have started building the major buildings. A ton of research has been done on the city, with many descriptions of the main building from canon. Ignore the wonky city walls in the background, they are just placeholders for the moment. The pics may not be in a totally finished state, but I hope it give some idea of what I'm doing.

Exterior, not interior ;)

I think Curm would be even more over the moon if someone asked to redo all the Silvy interiors :D

Nothing wrong with dan's interiors, except there are not enough of them.

TSM could use interiors for a number of canonical locations, including Arkheim's Invocatorium, Helmer's Wall, the Stagstand, the Dancing Goat, Fortune Hall, the Cloak of Stars... Also needed are adventuring interior areas. Interested builders can contact me.

Now would be an excellent time to build interiors, and tie in with the silvy revamp. I can send builders detailed pics of exteriors, or host the module for a walk around, so people can match interiors to exteriors. From all the reading I'm doing, you could spend all your time in Silverymoon with a DM run quest, and never have to leave. Heaps of paces to get to if you know how. I have all the lore if anyone is interested.

Just think Bigger and Neater (as in clean and tidy.)

The biggest thing with Silverymoon as is it is is it does not have the look of a 2000 year old Elven inspired city. You can do a lot in 2000 years.

In my vision I see tidy paths and well shaded verdant green mini-parks a plenty, places for contemplation, lots of elegant sculpted trees, and a walk mesh that is painted gently, and sculpted with a smooth terraced incline down to the river (in other words toss the current walkmesh out and start from the canon map.)

Also the current one suffers from incorrect ratios. I think it should be 1:1 always including the Castle, College, and Silverguard Keep.

I'd be glad to build you a Dancing Goat Interior too.

The Halls Of Inspiration

If anyone is willing to do a stained glass window for Milli, I'll pop it on. This will have a walkable upper floor, with open air chapel, as per canon. I am leaving the solid roof off for ease of visibility. I am considering doing a flat glass roof using water, what do you guys think?

Nice find Dorn, definitely going to use some ideas there.

The Temple of Silver Stars
How to build this building with what we have in the toolset has me stumped. Tried several concepts, looked crap. I'm thinking it's gonna be like a greek column temple. Any ideas?

"A beautiful structure of curving stone inset with many crystal-and-silver star windows, this temple to Selûne is shaped like single-spired tiara, its spire to the north and its roofline forming a crescent moon when seen from the streets around."

Dude...that looks awesome!

Does the non-canon, player owned store get its own ElC treatment? ;)

Looks great. Can you get rid of the silly bald elves inside Everdusk and by the Lady's College?

In not doing the interiors, but it is my firm belief that all bald elves should be expelled from the city.
