How would a DM (particularly one with a limited cognitive capacity) know whether the spaws he was placing were "flocking" or not?

Not sure if you can tell in the DM Client or not. However, if you palce a spawn and it starts to move around all over the place on its own, i think it has the flocking script attached to it.

The spawns shouldn't be flocking anymore, thanks to Al

Again, I would like to state, this has been going on in BG for a while now and you didn't even know it. If there were going to be issues/problems with it, I think it would have been voiced by now.

I like it, but I am a new guy, so my vote probably doesn't count. I have enjoyed BG quite a bit so far. Well... off to go find one of these new random dragon spawns to solo. =)

One thing almost everyone agrees on mate, once you're in, your voice matters. Never be afraid to speak up as the new guy, you might get a little attitude here and there, but we're really much better off the more people contribute to any discussion

This is a great idea but I would suggest making some non-hostile based ones (happy to put a few together) as suggested.

Changing their faction on the fly through dialogue is pretty easy (i.e. spawn them, group them up and then change the groups faction, if the convo goes south turn them back to hostile).

You can do this with any type of creature (doing it now for cut scenes in the first adventure pack).

Let me know if you want help, love the idea :)
