I generally use my forum avatar to represent my current PC's portrait. Here is a larger version of the image Venrill was originally based off of:

For those of you with an exceptionally sharp eye, yes. That is an artist's rendering of Vaarsuvius from Order of the Stick. One of the early influences on Venrill's initial character design.

absolutely. I'm thinking Ally Sheedy in the breakfast club (before Molly Ringwald gave her a makeover) as an example of dirty-pretty. She's somewhat literally dirty and also a little bit scary and a total oddball (and a little creepy at times), but at the same time she's not trailer-park trash dirty.

Then again, you might be thinking more trailer-park trash pretty!

Err... yeah. I prefer Ally Sheedy.

Anyway... in terms of "too pretty"...I don't think that that other picture was too pretty in terms of actual looks.. I mean really "pretty" is so subjective anyway... I think it may have just come across as too "polished" if that makes any sense.

Awesome pics everyone, especially Grull!

NWN2 does have the capacity to handle dynamic custom portraits for PCs, we just had problems with DM transitioning while they were active with 10+ players on. That was close to a year ago now, with quite a few patches in between, so it might be worth organizing a test to see if we could start using them again.

If you think it's worth the effort AL. I'm more than content with how things are in game, and as shown here we can add a little extra using the forums here. I'd say low priority at best mate but I'm sure others may disagree. I'd always rather see your attention on actual gameplay items, and you do a staggering amount as it is.

SO Thanks, as always AL.

I would love to poke around with portraits IG again... but I am still hoping for VFX weapons like we had in ALFA1. I'm a vain bastard, I know.

I would love to see IG portraits but I bet you already guessed that ;)

VFX items also would be great... I would love to be able to equip the array of small weaponry Corina carries around on a regular basis...small girl...mad max amount of weapons...and a spellbook!

*after recovering from severe whiplash because she suddenly realizes all her companions are teh movie-star hawtness*
"Trapper:*her face screws up with annoyance* Trailer Trash! Those hoity-toity RICH woods folk, THEY got to live in them fancy trailers. We just lived in a hollowed out stump with a stove inside. And tha stove was made of a stump!"
Actually your spot on about Ally Sheedy in looks alone. I never thought about the trailer trash part but way back when I watched TV regularly, Trap acts a lot like that character "Joy" from My Name Is Earl. *shudder.* All she needs is a cigarette hanging off one lip and some hairspray.
(Changed it to Kate Beckinsale in "Rise of the Lycans")

I did'nt think of saying "she has ## CHR so you are immediately in love with her captivating face, yet there's a piece of fish guts stuck to her tunic and she smells enticingly of said fish guts, beeswax, and trail funk" in the description. But I would suggest, if you are "on the prowl" or want to see if someone is attractive to you persay to just ask them their CHR. Does that sound right? Or is it on a roll by roll basis at that moment in time?

Charisma is meant to be a combination of factors, including attractiveness and personality. So for example you could have a high charisma paladin who's absolutely homely but shines with goodness and magnetism based on the force of her/his personality and sterling faith. I'm sure there are plenty of grizzled battle commanders out there who aren't much to look at but can stir the hearts of their troops with a few words and the confidence of their bearing.

In terms of deciding "do I want to do this person", I personally don't think a high charisma is any guarantee whatsoever of whether or not you're attracted to them. You could roll up a 21 CHA Fabio look-alike and come strolling along in my direction and I'd probably want to vomit, whereas some other woman might be all over him. It's totally subjective. That's why pics help. Your high charisma pretty boy may or may not get Corina interested, but that average charisma dude with the battle scars all over him and the rebel-without-a-cause attitude might.

No thank you:
