Diversion but hell, why not: It's always educational, and often humorous, to game with a weapons and armor enthusiast (so kudos to Zelknolf), it can in many cases enhance future RP. Stuff like methods of arms and armor maintenance, various fencing techniques one may use or steer clear from in certain scenarios, even stuff that sounds completely bonkers until you realize there's been whole real world schools of martial arts and whatnot that've endorsed various techniques.

One dude choking up on a sword, I guess gripping the ricasso, to get better control (a half-sword grip?) vs. someone who's inverted the blade to try and brain their opponent in the style of "Mordhau/Mordschlag/Mordstreich" ("murder-strike / murder-impact / murder-caper" in German? If wrong, blame Wikipedia) As a DM my first instinct'd be "that is ridiculous", but then you see a cool engraving and say "I'll be damned, that's not just a crazy player trying to sucker me into subduing /KO'ing an NPC with their greatsword."

PS, the guy doing the murder-strike in the picture looks a little light in the sabatons. Probably French.
ALFA NWN2 PCs: Rhaggot of the Bruised-Eye, and Bamshogbo
ALFA NWN1 PC: Jacobim Foxmantle
