1) What changes will you make if you become PA in regards to the OAS1 and 2. Do you think we need the OAS1? What can we do as OAS Dms and app reviewers to make getting in new players an easier task, but still using the degree of checks and balances we currently use.
currently, I would probably wish to do away with the OAS1 if it cannot be hosted at a regular time with a regular complement of DMs. While a great idea and wonderful tool, not having it available except by appointment only pretty much shoots itself in the foot.
2) PR and PA should work closely in hand. Since we are both trying to bring in new players and keep them here. Tell us some of your ideas in regards to the Application process. What changes need to be made to the Acceptance email and rejection email? What kind of things can we do to allow new players more access to information to get them started? What can we do to keep player retention?
I have to learn the current process before I can look it over and suggest change.
3) What would you do if anything to the discipline system for players? Id just like to know if you think its currently working and if not what would you do to change it?
I've not been privy to the details of the discipline system outside the decisions posted. So far that I can see, it seems to work. Again, I'll have to learn the details before I can scrutinise.
New one I think applies to you:
4) What can you do to show voters you can handle this positon? You speak your mind pretty bluntly (as do I) and we can rub folks the wrong way even when we mean well. What can you do to show voters your going to be a fair and approachable PA?
Thank you for your time.
Good question. I hate to refer to my time as HDM, because it's irrelevant to what seems the majority of the current membership. But, I just did. Amuse.
Fair? I'm not sure how to prove I can be fair, or at the very least, will endeavor to be fair.
I am often lurking the forums, therefore I read much of what is posted and can quickly get to PMs. If it would please the populace, I could lurk in #alfa more... though I'd rather step in by appointment to chat with specific people over specific subjects. Unless I'm at work, then I'll get to it when I get home - midnight EST.
the biggest barrier is my work schedule - at best it's four nights a week at prime 'free' time for must of the US population, and sleeptime for many others. At worst it's more than four nights.
My work schedule makes playing difficult and DMing impossible. This is something I see as contributing to a place I still love, for all its issues.
I do like to speak, or type, as plainly and directly as possible. I welcome questions, and ask many myself, for misunderstanding is a common problem with this medium in which we communicate.
