Unfortunately, if the trailer is at all accurate to the game's content, it looks like it's exactly the same boring old crap. Dark guy in a horned helmet and EVIL! armor leading a giant army of monsters against those who are, presumably, the good guys. Blah. I thought they promised us interesting, dark fantasy instead of more save-the-world shit. Oh well. Probably turn out like Mass Effect--very well executed, fun, but brings nothing new to the table.

I thought the good guys were actually the bad guys. lol

In fact, I couldn't tell who was who, but I liked the look of the fighting and the faces.

There's some gameplay in there. 4 person parties, which I guess is better than 3 person parties of Mass Effect, but not as good as the 6 person parties of Baldur's Gate... Due early 2009.

Dunno... interface seems a bit iffy to me.

Just noticed this. The second video on that screen has a bit more gameplay in it, including a bit of the video I posted above.

Unfortunately, it looks like they've gone down the "your party members weren't killed, they were just have a little nap" route... which I think goes against their touted "we're a spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate" thing.

Yeeeeah... if this is just another single-player game, those are dime a dozen.

Yeah, but most of them are fucking horrible. A good single player game (like, lets say, Mass Effect or Bioshock) doesn't need multiplayer to rock your socks off.

Personally... unless the game has something really spectacular to separate it from the pack, yes it does. And this is looking very generic. Two examples you listed? Not my style. Hell I've barely touched the single-player side of NWN2. All of the longest running games I've had are multiplayer.

I'm still confused by the trailers I saw a while back. Is this going to be an RPG game like Icewind Dale? or is it another one of those RTS games mixed with RPG?
