Hey Curmudgeon, thanks for the reply.
I've set the proper path for both the NWN2 data and the default path but to no use.. still getting that strange error..

EDIT: nevermind.. did a reinstall of the worldgate client and now it works :)

So no, there is no answer to the actual issue.
Errr...use the links in what indio quoted to manually download what you need until the issue (that not everyone is having) can be found and sorted?

Sounds like an answer to me.
Yes, that's a workaround, not a solution to the actual issue. I saw that there was a workaround, but my question was to the point of the actual issue. Workaround != Solution to Actual Issue.

And I'm glad not everyone is having this issue.

Indio's second response was what I was looking for, thanks.

Hrm... seem to have a similar problem: I keep getting this error when I try to use the WG client for the first time:

"could not save pw description 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Worldgate\worldgate\ALFA.pw.' "

I've got vista, I've changed the install and data destinations as suggested, and have uninstalled then reinstalled the WG client to no avail. I've no problem just downloading through the individual links, though I just wanted to make sure there wasn't some simple solution to this problem. Thanks.

This is a post regarding known issues that would be worth keeping in mind during character creation. I'll cut and paste into this post any issues regarding feats/backgrounds/etc that aren't functional in the game.
(thanks Mik for getting this started)

My problem is that the download is pretty massive... Granted im only on a wireless boradband deal which isnt extra super mega fast but its still massive. Is there a need to have such a massive download? Why is it different from NWN1? Maybe I should set aside a "Download Day" to get the required files... I take consilation in the fact that once theyre mine I wont have to spend much time getting the updates....

Also, you have to get both the PWCs and the haks. And I believe PWCs are rather large.
Current PCs:
NWN1: Soppi Widenbottle, High Priestess of Yondalla.
NWN2: Gruuhilda, Tree Hugging Half-Orc

One thing we may pursue later is to break things up a bit- have an Admissions worldgate for the OAS2 PWC, a Beta worldgate for the non-live servers, and a Live one that just does haks and Live server PWCs. It's not so hard to set it going in your downtime now, though.

In order to test some theories on the recent pstorage and lag problems on TSM, we've switched hosts with the OAS2, meaning for the next few days, The Silver Marches is being hosted out of Central Virginia at the following IP:

75.75.5.218

Please report any abnormalities- for now, p-storage seems to be working. There should also not have been any vault rollback, and I attempted to recover some pstorage from earlier backups for ones that look like they'd been emptied by the recent bugs.

Hialmar wrote:Please update your worldgate configuration so that the server name is now:
download.alandfaraway.org instead of www.alandfaraway.org

You just need to edit the configuration and replace www with download and that should be it.

Send me PMs or post here if you have problems.

As I said in the other thread this is because we no longer have enough room on our www server.

If you are new and need to configure worldgate everything should be up to date and you can still use the "FromURL" method with www.alandfaraway.org as the infos have been updated in the auto configuration file.

damiarch, try clearing out the "Worldgate host" field before using the "From URL" button. Entering download.alandfaraway.org in the From URL requester should work then to update the Worldgate Host field to download.alandfaraway.org/worldgate

Recommend a little pruning of this thread, or at least moving the important data to the top. It might save me from asking njub questions in mIRC...or it might not...lol. :oops:

I think the key info already got edited in.. but we can make a nice clean one soon to simplify matters.

TSM is on patch 1.13 now, so update worldgate again (using "download.alandfaraway.org" as the URL) and then run the autopatcher to play.

{edit: bad URL! My fault, thanks for the heads-up from Kest -AL}
{edit, again, 8/4/08: another adjustment to the IRL, thanks Curmudgeon. -AL}
