NWN1

Right, so I'm a moron. Nothing new there. However, because I'm a moron I'm unable to locate the NWN1 haks so I can go about downloading them. I'd, um, like to download them. Help?

Also: which NWN1 server should I play on? C'mon, gimmie a sales pitch already.

Obviously, Nalo's gonna try to pimp his own DM time! :o

Seriously, though, all three of the NWN1 servers are good places to play. Most of the play seems to be huddled around DM sessions, though the SD group I usually play with tends to be able to be convinced to log in for a little bit 4-6 days/week (depending on how much there is to talk about and/or if we have anything to do ICly... no one wants to RP those days when your character would just stay home and pick his nose, right?) and I'm to understand that other NWN1 servers have moved to a similar situation, so I'm going to say that you'll probably end up wanting to settle on a server more based on character levels and schedules than anything.

In any case, I'd reccomend stalking about in the chat channel of whatever server you roll your character on, (#alfa-nc, #alfa-sd, or #sembia -- all on Sorcery.net, same as the main chat) and have said character travel if the server doesn't suit. (tends to get pretty clear how suitable a server is to your play style in a few weeks) ;)

Pretty sure the server-specific forums have posted mostly-up-to-date DM times, too.

Lowest lvl PC that I know in NC is lvl 6 I think, but DMs can make it possible for those PCs to survive regardless of lvl if they don't go around doing stupid stuff. FI has, more than once, said she can work with low lvl PCs as her own campaign has more investigation/intrigue and other assortments of non-physical challenges than actual combat. With the now limited number of DMs (although very good DMs), your best bet is to pick the server you can get the most action during the times you play.

As for specifically low lvl geared sessions I seem to recall Jayde running a group in SD.
Current PC: Gareth Darkriver, errant knight of Kelemvor
Se'rie Arnimane: Time is of the essence!
Nawiel Di'malie: Shush! we're celebrating!

Zelk gave a very fair assessment of the current situation, except that there is actually four servers to choose from. NC, SD, Sembia, and Moonshaes all have active DMs and player bases, albeit smalller than you may remember. I believe most servers have gravitated toward campaign play with regularly scheduled sessions, so you will want to find one or two that work for your play times. Welcome back and good luck with your search.

Vald's right, of course. I always forget about Moonshaes.
