I am not sure of the application process at this point. When I went through applying a few years back I had applied for WaterDeep specifically, so this application is a bit different.

It is my understanding that Chamu has bid or "snatched me up". I am not sure what this means in regards to other HDMs that have offered me admittance to their servers as well.

I have not heard any official response from the DMA / staff as of yet, not that I would expect a response so quickly...there are a LOT of very busy people right now and this sort of thing will likely take a few weeks or so to sort out.

Having said that my speculation at this point is that at some point I will be accepted to PADM on NC with Chamu, *crosses fingers*, after which I will perform whatever relevent standards and training as are required. Then after that I will spend some time as a PADM until I am hopefully granted full DM status. Once that occurs I believe that I would then repeat the process on another amicable server. Again that is merely my guestimate.

I fully expect this to be a SLOW process. Not slow in a complaint sort of way. It is completely understandable that it should take some time. I would expect a great deal of caution in any such bid for this sort of thing.

I will keep interested folks updated as to the status by use of this thread.

That was weird. lol, okay as the post before me states, I have been approved as a PADM for NC. I thought I would have more time, to download the updated haks and such, but NOOOO the DMA staff wants to be all efficient and quick and stuff.

I will download/update what I need after work today and log in sometime tonight. I am in California so that may be late for some of you east coasters.

Nothing wrong with this approach. It's a good idea, however I think you may have your hands full keeping up with events if the sever list grows beyond 2 or 3 and you'll need to be something of a Faerun expert to feel comfortable with that much canon.

I won't say I am an expert, but I have been playing/dming in Faerun for near abouts 15 years...I have the google and PnP reference material from 3.0.

But in all honesty, I am not assuming that I will be able to assimilate all the information. That expertise will undoubtedly fall on the resident DMs. I intend on taking care of the little stuff that makes the world feel alive. I will run games with generic NPCs that may teach new players a little bit of canon if they are new to FR.

My first duty will be to the server that has 1 player on, and I would just create an on the fly mini adventure that is appropriate to their level ect...or ask them what they want to do, and make myself available for some live interaction with the world.

My second duty would be to assist resident DMs with games if they need someone to help RP NPC's or handle spawning and special effects ect...

Those things I am pretty confident I can do without being a duty expert in the server or even FR. Just vanilla story telling for the lonely.

Rotku: Sorry I missed you Rotku =( I am still wrestling with the haks for NWN1, I think I cleaned out my hak folder a long time ago...so I am starting from scratch.

Castano: Thanks for the invite Castano, It may be a while yet, I will be in touch after I finish the PADM-ship.
