Wow this is awesome. Been looking around for a NWN2 PW to try out and now this. Finally I can get back to where I started RPing!

Feeling all warm and fuzzy right now...

Also, will the starting area have all that equipment when it goes live? Will there be something that will limit how much people can take?

There is the merchant, but those boxes have some stuff that can be worth a lot.

The box of free testing gear will be gone, as will the "XP" Gong that gives you 1000 xp per click (did I mention there's something that gives you 1000 xp per click?)

I just wanted everyone to know what to expect for live. Just so that everyone is aware that not everything will be perfect :)

When WD NWN1 went live back in '03, despite hours of beta play testing (which I enjoyed :) ) when the server went live there were still many issues and bugs. So, all the testing in the world won't find everything. Certainly our standards have improved, but players should be aware that you will encounter bugs and incoplete areas.

What does live mean? It means we have fleshed out enough of the server so that we can begin RP'ing with DM's and players. There will still be areas that are incomplete and interiors not finished. There will also be many canon areas and NPC's that have not been added (yet).

Does live mean the server is completely finished? No. In fact, I know a lot of exterior areas that I have left with a hook for future explorable areas, caves, dungeons, etc, that I plan on adding later. Also, I, as well as many other builders have set up some interiors with the bare minimum until we have time to add more. So, just because your PC may have explored area A and found a cave entrance with no cave doesn't mean there won't be one next week, or next month. In fact, I may not even tell anyone I put in a cool orc cave complex and you'll just have to find out the hard way when you take your sweetie to the pretty cave entrance for a picnic and find out you hungry orcs stealing your picnic basket, among other things.

What does the live have? It has Inn's, stores, quests, cities, towns, vast explorable areas, NPC's and lots of fun. It has a core area to engage in many RP'ing activities.

But my religion is not supported! Perhaps it can be, there are lots of areas with perfect locations for many of the religions in Faerun, supported by the canon of TSM. There are several temples, and many more to be built, as well as potential support for many more depending on demand.

But my race is not supported! Well, TSM is very tolerant of many races, but for plane-touched, drow, etc, we are working on solutions, but not before live. In the future, we hope to support as much of the player base as we can.

Where can I find a shuriken of butt-sticking? We try and stock our merchants with as much gear as we can think of. If there is something missing, let us know :)

Where does everyone start? Well, we plan on starting everyone in the Silverwood Troll caves where you be welcomed and fed on well. Seriously, Rivermoot is a small town with lots to do for new adventurers. As you progress, you may make your way to Silverymoon.

I hope that this will give everyone a little more information.

I am borderline wetting my pants in anticipation.

From a run around i'm pleasantly suprised by the number of external areas as well. Seems our computers can take a bit.

Now if only there were 5 aussie DMs i'd be laughing:)

I was until i learned the first server going live in 5 days is apparently only in beta 1, has seen its HDM leave because of the DMA and is virtually devoid of other DMs.

We might as well just put up a ghost server on April 15 if this is the kind of ship the DMA is going to run.

Drama or no drama, I still intend to get a server to Live. The players deserve it. I hope there'll be no delay to the target date, but of course I'll let people know. Right now we need to get the spawns vetted by the DMA team and get an HDM approved. Both processes are underway from the submission side. We've got IC plot plans, too. One thing you can be sure of: I'll be there DMing on Live Day.
Enjoy the game
