All things considered, I think Skullport is the best choice for ALFA as it allows all underdark races, and some surface races, to co-exist. There are Lolth worshipping drow (for me), Vhaerun worshipping drow (for reprobates like Inaubryn), Duergar (for HR) and all that crazy goodness...err...evilness. So, yes, Skullport would be great. My beef with Skullport in ALFA NWN1 was with how it was run, and even then, I made it my home twice. My advice? Once its built, don't be a slave to canon and accept change - don't have the Skulls working to keep it static like its a museum ... but ... don't let anyone power dominate the city either.
ALFA1-NWN1: Sheyreiza Valakahsa
NWN2: Layla (aka Aliyah, Amira, Snake and others) and Vellya
NWN1-WD: Shein'n Valakasha

I'll ask Cipher and Rusty what they think and if it's a go I'll begin planning.
In some ways, no map and no unweildy volumes of canon might be a boon rather than a handicap, allowing the builders to go with what is right for dynamic RP opportunities (ie, Indios initial idea) rather than what canon says must be there.Mikayla wrote:There is no great map of Sschindylryn. I think there might be a cursory one in Drizzt Do'Urden's Guide to the Underdark that gives the basic shape of the place (its like the inside of a pyramid) but there is no map of the city on par with the maps that exist for Menzoberranzan, Skullport, Waterdeep, etc.

I liked indio's idea of a joint server. Surface, caves and underdark together. I like the idea of ranging through a forest and finding a cave which just keeps going....down.
More adventure, and as Mayhem says unchartered territory, that way. And oh the potential for rolling wars of light vs dark/up vs down as time goes on!!
IMO only of course. Seems theres a few folk who want skullport tho so perhaps a winner.
Is there any way we could make skullport more about adventure and less city/intruige (if that's it's main focus not knowing much about skullport)? Looks like there is going to be quite a bit of city centric stuff in the already planned/in dev servers.
PS - you're a building machine indio

Make Skullport more about "adventure"? Like, maybe put in an enormous, multi-level dungeon that constantly changes and is overseen by a mad wizard, allowing endless teams of adventurers from above and below to venture into its depths?

If there is a place more about "adventure" than Undermountain, I am not sure what it is. So, the Skullport-Waterdeep-Undermountain trio is just about the perfect trifecta for ALFA I would think.

I think I'd like to build Sschindrylyrn sometime in the future but for now, I have my hands full enough with the Moonsea.
Its funny actually, would you believe that Zhentil Keep is corrupt in more ways than one..
