Gotta love degrading your own culture. If it was a white station doing that we would see such a shitstorm it wouldnt be funny. I bet you dont see Rev. Jackson or Al Sharpton saying anything negative about it. They only go after the white rich guys

First of all, lemme correct you folks.

A.) The argument that "The Man" is keepin' us down is an old one and is seldom used these days. When it is used it's by people from that generation.

B.) BET is a white network not a black network. BET is owned by whites who exploit the mainstream populace's hunger for this type of tripe. Mainstream equals a demographic that consist of blacks age 12-25 and whites age 17-25. It's a bullshit network with bullshit programming aka sell-out.

That little video is bullshit and is indicative of what America thinks of all blacks and what some blacks will do to appeal to certain markets. Here's an article on BET and it's history since 2001. Not that y'all really care. I'd be surprised if any of you actually read the article.

Wrong. The person in charge of BET is the owner of the Carolina NBA basketball team. He owns BET and the Bobcats.

Perhaps you should read things before you post and not know what your talkin' about, eh?

So, as I said before, BET is a white network and will gear its programming towards the images of blacks that they wish to portray and are currently making money. They will not attempt to portray blacks in a positive light because that doesn't sell.

When you talk about people as white, black, pink or purple, it's descriptive.
When you talk about a company, music or television by a skin colour, it's racism.

Well, Vincent, this convo started about BET which is an acronym for Black Entertainment Television. And most, if not all Networks in this country are white-owned. And most of their programmin' is geared toward Mainstream America which is majority white. Those are facts, not racism.

They're facts, AND it's racism. TV is a medium, a broadcasted signal. It has three colours. Red, green and blue. Calling a station black is moronic racism. Aping that is equally stupid.

Black, or any other colour, isn't a culture. It isn't a lifestyle and it isn't a statement. It's a skin, and that's it. Perpetuating any other notion is medieval.
