Does a sewer count as land, though? There's water, so it could be near enough to a amphibian habitat. This is all totally missing the point of the Illuminati angle though.

Well, I'm no zoologist, but I believe that if they were turtles they would have flippers rather than the more conventional limbs.

Mainstream TMNT is all about the Benjamins, and Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird had little to do with it after they sold the rights.

First comic was also written and illustrated by a pair of Daredevil fans, who also happened to be fine writers and artists, er that being Eastman and Laird.

You dare question the mutagenic skills of the Illuminati and their reptilian allies? I mean hell, they turned the Zeta Reticulians into the greys--they were originally an avian race, but the transformation gave them psionic abilities to use against the Draconis. I'm sure they can change a flipper.

Pft. Even a 5 year old child could turn an avian race into a grey. They basically look like plucked birds anyway! I think you're underestimating the differences between a flipper and a limb. I mean one is flat and wide and the other is round and thin for the love of god!
