Awesome article.

I really believe that the only way forward for the game companies is to go Lineage or Sony and turn this thing to their advantage. People are going to do it anyway, so why not make money off it?

I stopped playing the game before my trial period was up, but I'm getting a bit tempted to finally buy the game... part of the reason why I stopped was my main character hit the max trial level (20), but also because the grind was a bit dull... but then the game is now the same price as 1 month sub and it comes with a free month... :?

Aelred, if you're happy to work for 30c an hour, I have a few jobs around the house you could do. :P

People who buy gold are fucking pansies. Ive seen folks who have had max characters who didnt understand a damn thing about their class. They had some fool powerlevel them or they bought the character at the current level. If you dont level it yourself or get the gear, gold, etc yourself then your just lame.

I'm packing my bags now Nicky - expect me to arrive sometime in late July on the back of a whale "a la Keisha Castle-Hughes".

I found an article about the other side of the gold farming coin: This guy's job is to catch them.

As a side note of all this: Peons4hire a gold farmer site is being sued by Blizzard entertainment for the BS they have instigated on the WoW servers. Gold farmers got so bad that Blizzard finally had to put in anti spam controls to calm it down. I use to get spammed by farmers every 3 minutes or so some nights. It was terrible. I had even seen automated characters spamming in /shout about their gold sites in major cities in WoW, but that too recently has been stopped.

Gold farmers should just cease. It ruins the game and people are stupid enough to purchase the items and gold from them and in return they compromise their own WoW accounts.
