The true history of Azoz

Post by Rumple C »

Vision the first ~

1. In a time of great calamity there was a darkness that spilled across the land and into the hearts of men and dwarfs and elves alike.
2. For many years did they suffer under the guilt of their own misdeeds.
3. Verily did they suffer to the point of turning upon each other like animals especially the possum which has a foul demeanour.

Vision the Second ~

1. The wisest of all good men who remained gathered together in council to decry their plight and that of their people who had grown poor and disgusting with lice and hatred.
2. They knew only hopelessness for the forces of evil were more numerous than all the stars and more rough than the skin of the snapper.
3. In their desperation did they pray to the gods who has turned their back upon the unworthy petitioners.
4. Indeed! all but one god who lifted high the lamb and moulded him into his champion.
5. Upon seeing his creation, the god held him high and decreed him the saviour of all men and dwarfs and elves.
6. His true name was Azoz and he imparted a wisdom unparalleled within mortal kind and a purity of spirit as might be found in the celestial.

Vision the third ~

1. Azoz saw the bleakness that haunted men and dwarfs and elves alike.
2. To this end he grew to adulthood in two days having not the patience for childhood or puberty.
3. Cladding himself in Chastity and Virtue he walked among those who had lost hope and restored to them a spirit of determination.
4. Jealous men with evil in their hearts sought to throw stones and names at him but cried out in dismay when he forgave them for their sins of ignorance.
5. Azoz beat them in any event for no evil act should go unpunished.
6. He lifted the great darkness so that once again men and dwarfs and elves could know joy and laughter and pursue their dreams.
7. This pleased Azoz no end and he retired to obscurity vowing only to return to the world of men and dwarfs and elves when there was great need.

Vision the fourth ~

1. Once again was their a great need among the lands of men and dwarfs and elves alike.
2. Azoz took up Krish, his fork of divine mandate of which each prong represents the three major virtues of chastity, resilience, and virtue.
3. Azoz called to him Vassago, his life partner and third disciple and most precious of all companions past present and future.
4. Azoz called to heel his unworthy pet Deshane who is foul of face and whose bristles smell of vinegar and regret.
5. Azoz strode to Waterdeep to stamp out the coming darkness under his hooves which are shiny and reflect to the observer their own sins.

Vision the fifth ~

1. The castle of Waterdeep being lax in their stewardship of their people and possessions decried that their treasures had been lost about the city through gross bureaucratic corruption.
2. A great malaise fell across the city and those in power called out for heroes to return to them their treasures so that streets might be cobbles and lamps lit.
3. Upon hearing of this great calamity Azoz rose high and closed his eyes and turned his head to each of the treasures in turn for truly has he been blessed by all good gods who recognise talent then they see it.
4. While lesser men and dwarfs and elves ran like chickens with no heads Azoz and his companions retrieved the artefacts of power and gifted them back to the city while refusing any gratuity or compensation.
5. Azoz asked only that the lords of Waterdeep reflect upon what is good and right and to strive to be better stewards of the city that he so loved.
6. Deshane his companion whimpered as the artefacts were returned but he was cuffed by the strong hand of Azoz who spoke harsh words of kindness while Vassago covered his mouth to better hide his revulsion of the greed of man.

Vision the sixth ~

1. So it was that Azoz and his disciples Vassago the steadfast and Deshane the project arrived in Kerigans court.
2. "Forsooth Azoz, look thee upon the wretched people who dwell in the guild of adventurers for they have become sick with impure thoughts and diseases that doth ravage the flesh and mind alike" intoned Vassago who knew a leper den when he saw one.
3. Azoz turned his eyes to the dilapidated leper colony that was the adventurers guild of Waterdeep and his heart would have known despair if that was an emotion who could know - which it is not for Azoz knows no negative emotion for he is a pillar of light in this dark world, nor does he pass dirt for his inner energy burns it to less than ash within.
4. Azoz spoke to the lepers within that he would heal them if they were willing to change their wicked and greed filled ways and accept the one true way into their hearts.
5. The adventurers guild scoffed and pointed their finger stumps for they knew nothing but ignorance and fear.
