Doubts.

Post by Zer00 »

*A quiet night in Sembia, a clear night, a heavily cloaked figure walks along the beach*

"The stars, they're so beautiful... its been a while since I've seen them this way."

*A gust of wind blows his hair away, a thunder is heard in the distance*

"I know, I know. For once nightmares and hauntings are what were to leave me awake, now it is this.
Why am I condemned with restlessness?"

*The sea falls silent, suddenly all falls silent around him, as if the world stood still*

"You would think I'd be more needed here, yet, all of this... There is so much still left undone."

*Another thunder is sound in the distance, an elder figure creeps behind the man*

"Stop where you are and declare yourself. Who disturbes me?"

"I am you, we've met before. In the caves near Fireshear. You still have my staff don't you? Yes. there you are holding it."

"You, are me?" - The cloaked figure asks slightly surprised.
"Perhaps that is true... What do you want? Why are you here?" - The cloaked figure asks.

"I believe those are questions you should ask yourself, after all, you are the one that came here." - The old man smirks.

"I went for a stroll. It is only natural to ask questions as you walkabout."

"Yes... Yes... Yes of course it is. However, it is not questions you are asking of. It is doubt, isn't it right? You have doubt in yourself." - The old man tilts his head, waiting for the figure to reply.

"Are you telling me I do not know who I am? I than any other should know so. I am myself." - The figure replied, slightly hesitant than his usual, proud way of speech.

"Who are you?" - The old man swiftly, with a tiny smirk on his face which changes in to a serious look.

*Silence falls again suddenly. The stars become hidden because of an amass of clouds which groups above the two figures.*

"A servant of my deity, a judge, a man repenting for his former deeds. A man that without his past, his future would not have been possible." - The figure answers.

"If that be your answer, then perhaps this judge has some of his own crimes to answer before he can truley become a servant of his deity. Is it not so?" - The old man answers.

*The figure suddenly gazes at the old man. Perhaps it was fear, perhaps surprise, yet his white glowing eyes suddenly narrowed to two little white dots, barely seen.*

"Are you suggesting that there are some things in the past which I must still take atonement to? - The figure asked.

"I'm saying exactly tha..." - The old man begins to speak, just as the figure suddenly turns and begins to walk back towards the city.

"Farewell for now." - The figure says. As he walks off, he covers his head with a cowel.

"That bastard, he still has my walking staff." - The old man mutters as he disappears in to the black.

*A third thunder is sound, and the clouds disperse as if they were never there*
