Enchanting Lute
Enchanting, ah, Enchanting Lute
The Fishyard’s finest shop
Before departing Yartar, lads,
Y’ve simply got to stop.
See, captivating’s not enough
Enthralling doesn’t suit
Charmed, I’m sure, is what you’ll feel
When you go buy a lute.
Of deep brown eyes with golden sparks -
A skin of copper hue -
Elrowiel Dy’Nei herself
Will sing sweet words to you.
Enchanting, ah, Enchanting Lute
The Fishyard’s finest shop
Before departing Yartar, lads,
Y’ve simply got to stop.
One Foot In The Boat
I met a lass, when last we docked
Upon the yonder quay.
An’ though I’d loved the sea so long,
The lass begged me t’stay.
I rushed t’find my bosom mates
A drinkin’ ale inside.
I stated my predicament
An’ this is what they cried . . .
Y’ve one foot in the boat, m’boy!
An’ one foot on the shore!
Now do y’stay or do y’gooooo . . .
Bah! Come, let’s go explore!
Back to the lass I hurried then
To have another glance –
To hear from her that honeyed voice
An’ share a final dance.
The bosun’s rung the bell, m’dear
The time t’part is nigh.
She then held me with her embrace
An’ whispered with a sigh . . .
Y’ve one foot in the boat, m’love!
An’ one foot on the shore!
Now I yet plead that you not gooooo . . .
Alas! Please go away no more!
I fled the lass an’ wandered ‘round
An’ soon came on a church.
Within I glimpsed a cleric fondly
Engaged in his research.
I pondered on the treach’rous sea
An’ women’s false allure
Then sang aloud as I discerned
The path I should secure . . .
I’ve one foot in the boat, m’lads!
An’ one foot on the shore!
But now that I’ve seen a simpler paaaaath . . .
I’m needin’ one foot more!
Oh, despite the lass,
Despite the sea
A cautious life
Convinces meeeee . . .
That I’m needin’ . . . one . . . foot . . . moooooooore!
Enchanting, ah, Enchanting Lute
The Fishyard’s finest shop
Before departing Yartar, lads,
